Love my little old laptop. Bought it second hand for a couple hundred bucks and it's been worth every cent (once I'd deleted windows and installed Linux). I gave Ubuntu a Windows skin though so it looks the same, it just runs fast now. I figured that way I'll manage to annoy both camps at once. 😁

I recommend dual booting to familiarise yourself with Linux. Getting off Windows addiction can be a difficult detox. Be reassured that most Windows games run beautifully on Linux with Steam or Crossover, and for those few holdout multiplayer games get a console. Or detox from gaming too.

I also had to leave the abusive partnership with Windows. Windows was throwing tantrums, not listening to me and disrespecting every privacy boundary I had. Linux is amazing now there are chatbots to tell you the best free software and the right terminal commands.
