Manchester Equinox. Couple of images from last week on the way to #BridgewaterHall for the new season @thehalle.bsky.social Quite a remarkable sunset. I’m sure it’s entirely accidental but the alignment of these standing stones with the setting sun around the time of the Equinoxes is ‘interesting’

Autumn in #Wharfedale, a few miles away in Skipton mist all day. On the #DalesWay and over #Grassington Moor, blue skies and warm sun all day. Walking away from the relative crowds into a very quiet Mossdale. The curlew, lapwings and larks of spring replaced with an occasional & distant grouse.

Came across this slate headstone in the small churchyard at Ynys near Harlech. The exceptionally fine detail on the edge and below the palm is remarkable. The patterned incised lines are impressive. Slate being a softer rock can possibly take fine detail unlike sandstone or granite
Slate gravestone in the Churchyard at Talsarnau just north of Harlech. The translation reads:
In loving memory of William, dear child of Dafydd Griffith, formerly of Rhyd Goch, and Elizabeth his wife, born October 16 and buried October 20 1894.
And their only daughter sleeping with Jesus November 29 1931 aged 30.
