Of course not, who suggested they did? However they would have largely agreed that this is a party with a focus upon sustainability / green issues.

The question is though, are all of these members ‘greens’? Or do we now have a section of the party that just wanted a political home / vehicle after it became clear that the Your Party leadership were never going to get their act together?

I think it’s a tough one. Burnham is going to face more and more external issues over the next few years, starting with the energy price hikes. I could imagine the stock market (or even the bond market) going badly wrong in the coming months and years. An election now wouldn’t be a bad move.

People aren’t failing to be resilient. They’re being asked to tolerate things nobody should have to tolerate. This #WorldMentalHealthDay, I’ve made a video on how austerity, poverty and failing services are damaging mental health - and why we need change. 🎥 Part 1 of 2

We’ve just passed a motion that means we disagree with a two state solution. The motion is deeply pointless and damaging own goal.

The Zionism motion didn’t help, but I still think the result would have been the same. Zack needs to focus upon embedding himself in a Hackney seat in my opinion. Much more natural ground for a Green.

I'm sorry if this is obvious but the Tory proposal to exempt family homes completely from IHT will lead to 1] pensioners buying the biggest houses they possibly can 2] pensioners refusing to downsize which can only be bad news for younger families trying to buy family homes

📢Today Google has added motor fuel prices to the maps app so you can see how expensive driving is. 🚲Not wanting to be left out we have been around the city to check on the cost of fuelling a cycle and produced our own map. 🎉It's good news - fuelling a cycle is still free everywhere.

Celebrity Traitors: It’s all going to go entirely predictably. The Traitors have invited Amol because they want to recruit him and James because they want rid of him for accusing Richard. This blatant removal of his main critic - and his behaviour yesterday - will see Richard banished.

This is just sentencing another generation of neurodivergent kids to years - if not a lifetime - of misery. Helping these children understand themselves through diagnosis allows them to understand their own strengths and weaknesses and plot a future that suits them. This will cause such misery.

Even a very airtight house will generally need a heating system of some sort. Most Passivhaus standard dwellings do.
010
Nick Simpson @iamnicksimpson.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
Apparently both the house that was built plus the example passive solar (the architect’s own home I believe) had ‘no conventional heating system’, or so I believe. I was in and out of the show (and room) at times.

“It’s so unthinkable that I don’t think it’ll happen”. That sentence worries me maybe more than anything. Your interviewee surely can’t have written off the chances of something happening just because it would be awful?

Nick Simpson @iamnicksimpson.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Ours have always needed some form of heating (ASHP is the norm).
110
Nick Simpson @iamnicksimpson.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Yes, you need to meet specific standards and need to provide the relevant proof. I was out of the room briefly near the end, but apparently it did actually meet the Passivhaus standard once finished. Although I would still expect some kind of heating system.

Nick Simpson @iamnicksimpson.bsky.social · 16/09/2026
Something about this Grand Designs seems off. It’s “near passiv” standard but apparently has no heating system? Also, that’s a *lot* of glazing for a heavily insulated house.

Worth having a look at Cory Doctorow and ‘enshittification’. This sounds like a conspiracy theory, but it isn’t. Google realised that if they made you have to search for something 2-3 times, they can show you more ads. So they made their searches less intelligent / accurate.

What’s not to love? A country with an ageing population, gaining access to a huge pool of largely well educated workers (along with a range of trade opportunities). Why would any sane country not want that..?

With the polls having narrowed to 0.3% between the left and right blocks - after a previous lead by the left - I suspect the right will win. Resulting in the far right being part of a major European government. Sweden’s government, no less. Deeply grim. www.theguardian.com/world/2026/s...
