I haven't participated in #LudumDare all that much in recent years, and still, the last two times I have, the themes have basically been repeats of ones I've done before. I have *two* previous entries that could fit this theme! #ldjam #GameDev

A bit of #GameDev today in preparation for #LudumDare next weekend. I started a major refactor of my dialogue graph editor after the last one I participated in (57 I think), but fell off it in May after biting off more than I could chew. Now I have no idea where I was with it :try_not_to_cry:

The Matchbox movie seemed like quite a cynical collection of things and people middle-aged men would have liked when they were kids: toy cars, gun fights, John Cena, Jessica Biel... And then it's also an ad for Leatherman utility knives, which I guess middle-aged men are supposed to like now.

The Kazakh flag fuckin' rules. I wish the Irish flag had an emblem on it (would probably be a harp, much less cool than a sun and an eagle but still) and some celtic knot stuff.

The flag of Kazakhstan. It is light blue/turquoise with an emblem in the centre of a sun with an eagle underneath it with its wings spread, in yellow. On the left hand side (where it would attach to a flagpole I guess) there is an ornate design in a vertical line, also in yellow.

So many changes since my last update. Finished the tower maybe? Might do more on the top floor, but maybe not. Embiggened the closest whale. Pants on the lady on the right. Hair highlights and hand details.

Y'know, not so bad now that I have the second side of the tower finished, actually. I went back to the unblurred shading in the foreground

Same image as the above toots but the shading on the women has been restored to the sharp-edged style, a second side of the shaft of the tower has been detailed, and there is some more detail on the sea floor (just blurry shapes and stuff).

Vector art image of two women swimming down towards the Eiffel tower. There are several whales swimming around the tower. The tower itself is just a block of colour so far. Everything is in blue/green tones.

Pixel art version of the same image. There is more detail in the tower and the women, and the women's skin is pink rather than green and has more detailed shading.

I SVG'd this character to use as the icon. Inkscape did the initial tracing of the pixel art and I added some details then and tidied things up. I like how it turned out. Makes me want to SVG some more stuff. #PixelArt #VectorArt #inkscape
