That being said: I am quite addicted to Control Resonant and it has moments of true brilliance. Just like with Control, I think some of the fighting is a bit tedious but I love how weird Remedy gets with their stories and that they don't shy away from both big feelings and silly moments.

Playing Control Resonant and am not sure if I am too happy with the expansion of nearly every single element of the original: bigger map, more complex skill trees, more collectibles, more this, more that - I applaud the big story/setting switch but it could have worked on a smaller scale.

The neighbour from Pet Sematary saying "sometimes, dead is better" but "dead is" is overlayed with "less more is", so he says "sometimes, less more is better."

I only recently thought that I personally prefer this bonkers Batman over Nolan's versions. I know they are beloved but I think the Nolan-ification of superheroes (e.g. making everything grounded in reality) drew a lot of the joy, camp and sheer inventiveness out of the Batman universe.

I think aside from maybe one or two big companies, I am mostly loyal to 1-2-person indie devs who create lovingly made games and who I know from itch. Seeing the pure range and progress from their first game to their most recent masterpiece is chef's kiss.

Wolfwalkers is magical and made me cry. Some niche found footage horror (not pictured but best of the bunch: Leaving D.C.). And I watched the Odyssey and was underwhelmed. Nolan leans too much into "realism" for these kind of stories (had the same issue with Batman). Not enough gods / creatures!
