This stopped me in my tracks. An independent study by @qmul.bsky.social has found that after ULEZ was introduced, children’s lungs grew faster in Central London and have now caught up with children outside of the capital. Incredible.

Two historic heatwaves in two consecutive months, with monthly records broken in both, something not achieved since 1911 and not something achieved by such a margin either. May's record was broken by over 2ºC, and June's record is likely to go by perhaps 3ºC, extraordinary.

I had my disagreements with the BBC under Tim Davie but he was a decent man doing a difficult job. To see Trump's White House claiming credit for his downfall and attacking the BBC should worry us all.

The left headline, under a caption that reads "Shot" reads: "Trump goes to war with 'fake news' BBC," and the right headline under a caption that reads "Chaser" reads: "Tim Davie resigns as BBC director general over Trump documentary edit."

Scrapping the two-child cap could lift 470,000 children out of poverty. If the Government wants national renewal, it must invest in our greatest asset: young people. Give them the best chance in life—better education, more opportunity, and we all benefit. It’s common sense.

It's simple, if you throw paint on a plane then you get proscribed and any 80 year olds defending you get arrested. If you ask people to burn down hotels, and they try, you get an interview in the Telegraph and positive coverage in the BBC. That's sensible, proportionate policing.

The initial results are in for Phase 1 of Wirral's 20mph rollout. An amazing success. Imagine arguing against this stuff "A 23% reduction in the number of people killed or seriously injured (KSI)" Article here featuring a quote by me www.birkenhead.news/fewer-casual...
Quote reading:

The evaluation highlighted a number of key findings:

•	An overall reduction of 2.9mph in average speed across all schemes after year one.
•	A 12% reduction in road traffic collisions.
•	A 23% reduction in the number of people killed or seriously injured (KSI).
•	An 8% reduction in those slightly injured (SI) in collisions.
•	28% fewer vehicles travelling above 25mph (based on traffic daily flow).
•	51% fewer vehicles travelling above 30mph (based on traffic daily flow).
•	64% more vehicles travelling below 20mph (based on traffic daily flow).
•	A reduction in average speeds on 20mph roads in all of the scheme areas
•	More than 300 fixed penalty notices issued by Merseyside Police officers enforcing the speed limits in these areas.
20mph road sign set against a blue sky. Headline reads "ALLLOCAL DEMOCRACY
Fewer casualties on Wirral roads where 20mph speed limits are in place"
