Avuncular curmudgeon. Arrant pedant. Remarkably unremarkable, consequently inconsequential. Never could get the hang of Thursdays. (Scorpio) (✶✶✶✶) hubbit.blog

Indeed, this is why MAD Magazine is in the Warner/DC fold. Bill Gaines sold it to Kinney, but stipulated that he hold absolute control over it. Which he did until he died, after which it was subsumed into DC's control.

Huh. I sometimes wondered what the other R was in "CRRE". This time capsule more or less reminds me of my own youth, at roughly the same time. Graduated high school in 1984 but that environment (in Indiana) was suffocatingly evangelical. And I escaped that as well.

Well, happy Charles Darwin is “very poorly today & very stupid & hate[s] everybody & everything” to all who celebrate, because he wrote those words in a letter to his friend (and author of Principles of Geology) Charles Lyell 161 years ago today

Goots, we've known each other for years and years. I've never known you to be anything other than a superb person, someone with a strong compass of convictions. An intensely inquisitive and curious thinker. Someone who wants to both see and make right in the world.

Panel 2: A tweet from John Cleese that reads “This is where the Arabs were ahead of us

By castrating all their slaves, they made sure that there were no descendants who could claim reparations”

Panels 3-5: Purple Guy slowly closes laptop with a mystified look of revulsion

Mad props to the great Joe Morton finally making his #StarTrek debut this week in the incredible "Orders of Magnitude." Joe Morton is THAT GUY! From "The Brother from Another Planet" in the 80s! To Miles Dyson in "Terminator 2." To Henry Deacon in "Eureka." Plus, a hundred other things. Legend. #SNW
