STOP USING FLOATS

binary data was not supposed to have decimal parts!
Years of compiler development, yet no real-world use found for anything other than char and int!
Wanted to use decimal numbers anyway for a laugh? We had a tool for that: it was called FIXED-POINT ARITHMETIC
"x==x can be FALSE!", "1/0 is a number", "the sum of 1/10 and 2/10 is 0.30000004 - statements dreamt up by the utterly deranged

LOOK at what floating point numbers have demanding your respect for all this time, with all the circutis and data types with built for them

"Hello, I want to knof if f is a real number and less than -1 please?" "Sure that'll be f!=f?0:-1/0.f==f||f==-1.f/0?0:-1f>f"

THEY HAVE PLAYED US FOR ABSOLUTE FOOLS

Not for nothing is the Helen the unit of beauty. Usually the Milihelen, or the amount of beauty needed to launch one ship. (Though this is not without controversy, as properly you shouldn't combine metric prefixes with Troy measures.)

The attribution of a heat island is complicated. If your cooling is powered by rooftop solar PV, then all the electricity used is energy that would otherwise have heated the roof - unless it was reflected. Using a/c is no more irresponsible than painting your roof black or making it of slate.

You don't need aircon if you have a heat pump in cooling mode. Roof and wall insulation keeps the heat out. Low E windows reflect the sun's infrared. MVHR heat exchanger ventilation keeps your cool in. A low-energy home is a home adapted for climate change. ps Quite smug here. The tech all works.

The honest answer is: it depends on what you measure, and where you look.
