New paper! Brandon Kilbourne conducted a huge data collection effort for the limb muscle architecture (masses, fascicle lengths, pennation angles; thereby PCSAs) of mustelid mammals. We found conspicuous relationships with morphology and locomotor mode. link.springer.com/article/10.1...

Demain, le 22 septembre, les agent·es du Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle seront de nouveau en grève ! Toujours pour des salaires décents, mais aussi pour que cessent les violences managériales de plus en plus nombreuses dans l'établissement ! Rdv dès 9h30 au jardin des plantes !
Tract militant annonçant la grève au Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle le 22 septembre 2026Depuis janvier, les agent·es du Muséum se mobilisent pour leurs rémunérations. Résultat : le ministère a débloqué une enveloppe de 400 000 euros. Ce n'est pas un cadeau de la direction, c'est le produit de notre mobilisation.
Mais le compte n'y est pas ! Cette enveloppe reste très insuffisante pour rattraper le retard accumulé. Surtout, elle exclut les contractuel·les, qui représentent aujourd'hui plus de la moitié des effectifs. Nous refusons un Muséum à deux vitesses qui mette en concurrence les agent·es aux statuts différents.
Ces derniers mois ont été l’occasion d’échanger autour de nos conditions de travail. D'un service à l'autre, les mêmes constats reviennent :
Un travail dévalorisé, quand l'expertise des agent·es et leur légitimité à décider dans leur champ de compétence sont ignorées.
Des consignes instables et contradictoires, et des décisions de plus en plus centralisées, loin des métiers.
Des programmes décidés sans les moyens humains et financiers pour les réaliser.
La peur de parler, pour celles et ceux qui émettent des réserves argumentées ou signalent du harcèlement.
Cette organisation du travail fait souffrir les agent·es ! Des collectifs entiers en témoignent. Nous avons alerté la direction pendant l'été, notamment sur la situation au Jardin des Plantes. Désormais, nous demandons des actes pour faire cesser cette situation !
Nos exigences :
Une revalorisation générale et pérenne des salaires, pour toutes et tous, contractuel·les compris, sans individualisation des primes.
Une autre organisation du travail, qui rende aux équipes la maîtrise de leurs missions et s’appuie sur leur expertise.
Des conditions matérielles dignes pour exercer nos missions.
Un traitement effectif des signalements de management violent, avec protection des agent·es qui les portent.
Des perspectives d'emploi et de carrière, en particulier pour les collègues qui enchaînent les contrats et les statuts précaires.

Le 22 septembre, on se mobilse ! 
La CGT Muséum a déposé un préavis de grève à partir du mardi 22 septembre. Il couvre l'ensemble des personnels, fonctionnaires et contractuel·les. Pas besoin d'être syndiqué·e pour faire grève.

Rendez-vous le mardi 22 septembre à partir de 9h, devant la grande galerie de l’évolution, 36 rue Geoffroy-Saint-Hilaire, sur le site du jardin des plantes, pour aller gagner ensemble de meilleures conditions de travail.

Beneath that is a black and white photograph taken at the excavation site in 1948. Skull is lying with snout towards the bottom, two large eyes above. Below to the right is the skull in its present state (PMO 201.958), it shows evidence of weathering as it was not recovered from the fossil site until 1985. Above that to the right is a reconstruction of the skull (scale bar beneath is 5 cm. On the right is a line diagram of the specimen as it was originally discovered, based on field photos taken in 1948 and collected material (scale bar at top right is 10 cm).
