The washing machine lives! Swore at it, kicked it, pulled some pipes about and I've finally beaten it into submission. Stupid bloody thing. It's probably blocked up with pet hair or something. But it's drained and spun at last.

In other news, the washing machine has had a nervous breakdown. Don't blame it, it gets terribly abused. I couldn't open the stupid filter thing until I lost my temper with it and then I couldn't get it shut before gallons of hot soapy water went all over the kitchen floor. Fuxache.

Dad's brother has terminal cancer. He's just found out. He can't ring him because last time they spoke they had a huge row. I tried to gently suggest that Dad should be a bit less angry and aggressive all the time, to avoid such situations. And ... He got angry and aggressive 🙄

Pookie is absolutely loving Butlins. They're going swimming today and then going to watch a show after. He slept for 11 hours straight last night, he was so knackered. Glad I didn't just get him a toy, they have so much, this was a better present. Might do it again for his next birthday.

1/5 The Wenhaston Doom, Suffolk One of the main reasons I wanted to return to St Peter’s Church was to see its wonderful medieval Doom again. Unusually, it was painted on oak boards rather than directly onto the wall, and probably dates from around 1520.

I had a caramel Rocky for dinner. Atticus had Bao buns and a microwave curry. So much easier without him wanting a proper home cooked dinner every night. I like cooking but I don't want to do it every sodding day.

Blood pressure is exactly the same as it usually is. So the meds they've had me on for two years and I haven't taken for a fortnight clearly work well 🙄
