This is a big deal. DC fed judge says that DOJ's pursuit (and use) of the state voter files is unlawful, on a bunch of different grounds. And effectively confirms that for the 18 states that submitted files willingly, whoever collected the files at DOJ Civil Rights committed federal crimes.

The thing that has literally never made sense to me about Conservatives is, so much of their gripe with things can be solved so easily! Don't like gay marriage? That's fine I guess. Marry who you want! Against abortion? Totally your right. Don't have one, problem solved.

Remember that a blue wave might not crash evenly across all areas. In fact I believe it will wash further ashore in red states than in blue. Polling hints at an anti-incumbency drag, regardless of party. So to blue state Dems: Do NOT get complacent and assume easy victories in your elections.

Kind of where I'm at: Almost all of Trump's actions kind of suggest that he doesn't really care that much, is more focused on getting his name on as many things as possible, and is preparing to 10,000% blame Republicans for the midterms losses. He'll say they didn't use him enough. Book it.

Republicans re-gerrymandering Texas and other Southern legislatures in 2027 was already likely after they killed the Voting Rights Act and normalized mid-decade remaps. But Democrats could block it by winning for Texas House or governor, and a quorum break could block it in a 2026 lame duck session

Winning the midterms will not solve all of our problems. But it will give us something we currently lack: Tools the address them, both now and in the future. It will take a decade to get us out of the dilemma we find ourselves in. This is just the first, crucial, necessary step in that process.
