The intense hate for and projection onto @neeratanden.bsky.social and @shannonrwatts.bsky.social from the left over on the Bad Place seem dripped in heavy misogyny. Wasn’t surprised by the usual bleaters — but honestly feel disappointed prominent influencers that should know better are partaking.

Online far leftists who’ve been fed a diluted form of Marxist-Leninism, most recently by the post-2016 DSA, mistakenly believe in powerful central committees in the shadows because that’s how communist “democratic centralism” works to set policy directives and provide orders to indoctrinated cadres.

The Democratic "establishment" is such a nebulous and disorganized thing they very often aren't even on the same page with each other. Consider how many contested primaries have senators, not just Sanders but other totally mainstream liberals, endorsing different opposing candidates.

The way the far left since inception solves the incoherency of contradictory *simultaneous demands* is by forcing purity tests, then excommunicating all who don’t toe the new party line.

Abdul El-Sayed probably holds more progressive as opposed to far-left views. Pandering to far-left during the primary now looks like to be a big mistake. Words matter in communication. There are more ways than one to say something, FDR figured it out — but the far-left cadres probably won’t let him.

DSA trajectory seems eerily similar to the Tea Party which later morphed into the MAGA cult. Makes me a bit sad because on my journey left after leaving GOP I met some genuinely well-meaning old guard DSAers who have all since left after being pushed out by the communist MUG and Red Star entryists.

In periods of American Progressivism the agenda was reform not revolution. Right there in the label: PROGRESS Revolution requiring destruction doesn't guarantee better outcomes; regression is high. Creating bulwarks to lock in reforms then adding new reforms is the literal definition of progress.

Joe Biden, and the aspirational America we must still believe in on our nation’s 250th. As we honor the sacrifices of preceding generations of patriots, we must focus on the good they chose despite their own human imperfection. Nothing is guaranteed if we don’t fight for it. It’s our turn. 1/7
An X (formerly Twitter) post by Joe Biden on July 4, 2026 with a message on the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence of the United States. The attached picture is of the Bidens watching the July 4, 2021 fireworks and celebration over the National Mall from the Truman Balcony of the White House’s South Portico.

“Two hundred and fifty years ago, a group of Americans signed their names to a piece of parchment and made a promise no nation had ever made before: that we're all created equal, endowed by our Creator with unalienable rights — life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

We're the only nation in history built not on ethnicity, or blood, or geography but on an idea. That's always been what makes us exceptional. We chose that path 250 years ago but that's where the work began, not where it ended.
Every generation has had to choose it again. At Valley Forge, at Gettysburg, on the beaches of Normandy, in the streets of Selma. Americans recommitted themselves to the principles on which our nation was founded.

Now it's our turn.

There's nothing guaranteed about our democracy. We have to fight for it, defend it, and earn it. Over and over, year after year. That's not a burden. That's what it means to be an American.
250 years in, we still haven't fully lived up to those words in the Declaration. But we've never walked away from them, and this July 4, I hope all of us can commit to one thing: that we never will. I don't believe we're as divided as we're told we are. I've bet my whole life on the American people, and I'm not stopping now.

Happy 250th birthday, America. Our story isn't finished.
Let's keep writing it together.”
