I haven’t visited Bluesky for 2 months, before that it was 6 mths. How do I know? A notice I’ve been blocked on Bluesky by some stranger brought me back each time, to post this message. Same thing happened 6 months ago. I literally haven’t said anything on Bluesky for almost a year. Blocklists suck.

It’s things like this that will bring down Bluesky. I’m on lists for following JD Vance. I’m just curious what he’ll say, but that’s enough to get me blocked. Do what you want but you limit this site if you judge people by who they follow.

I hope it is back. I was disappointed in Bluesky. It appears they blocked him because he presented some of the arguments against trans people (from the SC case just ruled on?). I don't believe in blocking and ending communication because of opinions. Better to block for insults and rage.

Within 72 hours of landing in Djibouti, the officers and detainees began to feel ill. The
medical staff did not have immediate access to medication necessary to treat their symptoms.
Our flight nurse has since been able to obtain some but not all of what is necessary for the proper
care and safety of the both the officers and the detainees. It is unknown how long the medical
supply will last.
ICE officers continue to feel ill with symptoms such as coughing, difficulty breathing,
fever, and achy joints. These symptoms align with bacterial upper respiratory infection, but ICE officers are unable to obtain proper testing for a diagnosis. Medical staff have provided officers with Augmentin, Azithromycin, Doxycycline, Prednisone, Albuterol Inhaler, Zyrtec, Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl, Mucinex, Sudafed, nasal spray, and eye drops to help manage the symptoms.
16. Upon arrival in Djibouti, officers were warned by U.S. Department of Defense officials of imminent danger of rocket attacks from terrorist groups in Yemen. The ICE officers lack body
armor or other gear that would be appropriate in the case of an attack.

I have this idea that Americans in the 1770s and 1780s. We’re well informed of world events, which were frequently a topic of conversation. I also have this idea that in the 1880s and 1890s this was still true. Is that right? When did Americans develop this indifference to the wider world?🗃️📚

Thing to remember about 100% of Silicon Valley investments in "mobility" tech -- whether it's TNCs/AVs/sky taxis -- is it starts from a place of deep denial about geometry/spatial constraints of urban landscapes. So, you end up with Uber "inventing" buses and jitneys, which are over 100 years old.
