Phenols aren’t alcohols in the same way carboxylic acids aren’t. Sure, it’s got a carbon with an OH on it. But pretending the adjacent pi system doesn’t affect its fundamental reactivity is a mistake.

Double-clicking an atom in ChemDraw used to add a label. Now it adds a bond. This is EVIL. Why mess with muscle memory that's been going for years?! 🤬 By the way, it's now Option + click (Mac) or Alt + click (Windows). #ChemSky support.revvitysignals.com/hc/en-us/art...

ChemDraw: Double-clicking on an Atom adds a new bond instead of the text box to enter the label
This is an intended change in v25.5.  From version 25.5.0.5789, you need to use Alt+single-click instead of double (left) click to get the text box to enter the label.

Did you know the wasabi in most sushi restaurants isn't wasabi? Or that a chemical synergy between dried seaweed and raw fish enhances sushi's savoury flavours? Learn more about sushi science with this infographic, as requested by my sushi-mad seven-year-old 🍣 wp.me/s4aPLT-sushi #ChemSky 🧪
This infographic titled "Sushi chemistry: nori, wasabi and sticky rice" explores the science behind sushi. It features three main panels with illustrations, chemical structures, and explanations. The left section explains how amylopectin in rice creates stickiness and how acetic acid from vinegar aids gelatinisation. The middle panel covers umami flavours from glutamate, inosinate, and guanylate found in nori and raw fish, displaying their molecular structures. The right panel discusses allyl isothiocyanate in wasabi and horseradish, along with gingerol and shogaol compounds in pickled ginger (gari). Photos of six different sushi rolls line the bottom.

**Lights Out Alert Sunday & Monday Nights** Birdcast is estimating 300-400 million birds will be in flight.
From meteorologist Eric Snitil

**Lights Out Alert Sunday & Monday Nights**

"Heads up birders, I would not be surprised if the biggest bird migration night of the year happens over the next 2 nights. Birdcast is estimating 300-400 million birds will be in flight. That is a lot, but the pattern could not be better for migratory birds. A massive area of high pressure will turn the low level winds from the northeast to the southwest across most of the US. The last time we had anything similar to this in the fall was early October last year when a record 1.25 billion birds were in flight. I doubt we get to that level, but I suspect the number will top 500 million especially Monday night which looks to be the bigger of the two nights. You can help by turning off those outdoor lights on big migration nights, and the next 2 nights is about as big as it gets."

So Think, Write, Edit, Romance has a lot about prose and a whole section on self-editing. In a moment of wild surmise, I asked the literal Final Boss copyeditor if he'd take a look at it. (When I said I was taking a punt on blurbs...) And he did, and this is some of what @bcdreyer.social said.
Flyer for Think Write Edit Romance. Quote: “...she offers up here the sort of expert advice on the nuts and bolts of prose, from punctuation to grammar, that makes my copyeditorial heart sing. And if that weren't enough, she does it all engagingly and wittily.
