While there's no indication that she was coerced into doing so, I like the suggestion of picking the "cooler" name. I did not ask my wife to take mine but she thought it was cooler than hers, so she did. I also have good friend who picked their own cool new last name, and I think that's awesome too.

I shed my high school self fairly quickly into adulthood, and for a litany of reasons, I'mproud that I did. I don't dream or fantasize about that era of my life either. It's not even that I had a bad experience - I had what most people would consider a great one - it's just not me now at all.

If a historically bad season still breaks attendance records, what incentive does he have? The Mariners fandom has conditioned itself to love things other than wins, playoffs, and championships. As much as we say we want rings, we don't show that with our feet and our dollars.

Detached SFH in our neighborhood recently hit the market for $1.2M. I can remember a time not long ago when it would've been scooped up in a week. Now it's already been sitting for weeks. Especially with the tech layoffs, I expect it will sit for many more.
