To this day I can only watch "La Cité des enfants perdus" (City of Lost Children) in full daylight and with someone watching along. It's a combination of the unease in the story and the cinematography.

Had a bad bronchitis last spring that left me voiceless for a few weeks. Make sure you rule out the underlying reason, don't try to talk or whisper (whisper is actually worse), eat and drink cool things to soothe the inflammation.

Neal Stephenson on why writing by hand is good for your brain and how to do it. Schools reducing lessons in handwriting cursive is maybe the biggest educational blunder of the past 20 years or so. By handwriting you combine motorcortex with abstractions & "engrave" knowledge. What a skill to have!
