I have an account but not fully configured it yet. I only have it fully working on my mobile, which I don't use for social media. I could not get verification to work on the desktop. I'll get back to it sometime and give it another try.

Photo taken 1976/1977 in Clumber Street, Nottingham, UK. Olympus OM1n with a 28 mm lens. Kodak Tri-X 400, processed in D76. A cob is a bread roll or small loaf. The window is still there though the shop no longer sells cobs. #Photography #FensterFreitag #StreetPhotography #WindowFriday
A curved shop window reflects the pedestrian street where other shops and people can be seen. The interior is dark with no detail except for a sign on the inside windowsill which reads "Freshly made cobs and rolls".

A Ukrainian combat medic brought two puppies to safety from a dangerous area at the front. "I promised them, 'I’ll get you out,' in a place where promises usually shouldn’t be made. I kept my promise - the tsutsypatsi (his cute way of saying 'puppies') are safe," he wrote. 📹: vitsikkkk / Threads

64 years ago, on the 27th of September 1962, Rachel Carson's book Silent Spring was published. It handled the environmental harm caused by the pesticide DDT and the disinformation spread by the chemical industry. Carson managed to sway public opinion and even policy. #otd #history 🗃️

The balaclava blackshirted thugs are a result of a decade of politicians, tabloids and the broadcast media telling racists they have "legitimate concerns." The normalisation of actual fascism rhetoric and action has led to this and is a far greater "legitimate concern" than any migrant on a boat.

The Commission is surrendering Europeans to Trump and his thugs. They WILL abuse. Even prior to Trump personal data of US critics were used for blacklisting. The Commission will claim it is all in line with EU law. They know it is a lie. But litigation takes years, they get away with it.

Two tier policing. Arrest retired folk peacefully protesting genocide in Gaza. Allow right wing thugs to block streets and ports. I know which group presents the real threat to democracy and the so-called “British way of life”, which these vigilante bullies preposterously claim to be defending.
