Tam @hedonic.ink · 10/08/2026I like Silent Legions/Scarlet Heroes; I've run many genres and systems tweaking SH's chargen. I have mine too (Calypso etc). Maybe CRGE/UNE/BOLD (og) and Mythic GME (og as it gets)? Mythic has a robust ecosystem, too. Metamorphica is also a go to for me. So bad at using so few chars, haha. 010

Tam @hedonic.ink · 03/03/2026Closing in on 3k (pace will intensify as the month goes on). Imagine what I could accomplish if I could focus earlier! Getting back to it but gosh it’s hard not to ramble all morning before buckling down. #amwriting 030
Tam @hedonic.ink · 02/03/2026This is cozy romantic fantasy; just a nice little tale about people, mostly! I really enjoy the genre though I’ll probably do mystery next. 110
Tam @hedonic.ink · 02/03/2026After a few days of prep I started a new project yesterday. Just under 2k with a goal of 70k in thirty days, max 90. #amwriting 140

Tam @hedonic.ink · 17/02/2026Yes! Doesn’t matter what the map says, you see a giant trex down that country road you make a detour. Applies if real or fiberglass. 010
Tam @hedonic.ink · 17/02/2026Day four of the Bubble. I would have been tired with one kid a decade ago. Seems kind of insurmountable now. Made all three dinner with veg and chicken, ate what was left on their plates. Am officially back on “pie and coffee” until the situation improves. 000
Tam @hedonic.ink · 16/02/2026One thing my temporarily kaput computer has shown me is how much I miss having affinity open with a game I won’t work on while I do other stuff. Er. I mean how eager I am to get back to the game I was working on :D 110
Tam @hedonic.ink · 16/02/2026That is flat out terrifying! In a great way. Just terrifying. I love Copics! And no idea you could layer acrylics over them. 110
Tam @hedonic.ink · 15/02/2026Yea. For me, it’s unnecessarily granular. Six is a sweet spot (worst, bad, meh, good enough, great). D10 has the same advantage of visible odds as a d100. I tend to use my die of fate to answer quick “move it forward” qs like “is it raining?” or morale or whatever is needed in the moment, though. 010
Tam @hedonic.ink · 15/02/2026Obsidian would be my vote too. Discord is terrible for this; you can’t retrieve your content easily and in some cases at all. Keep it local, keep it out of a database. 020
Tam @hedonic.ink · 15/02/2026“Squeeeee! And a cute kid too!!!” Oh wait, no, that’s what I sound like looking at those. 010
Tam @hedonic.ink · 15/02/2026I don’t feel like Freeform has the same connotations of ceding authority and (possibly) assumption-based play. I’m not an FKR gm but I’ve always thought we’re all somewhat adjacent in the nsr/rules lite sphere. 010
Tam @hedonic.ink · 15/02/2026Baby has strep so we are all scrambling a bit. Got to spend today with the other kids and it was a good day even if I haven’t gotten to write yet. :) though I do wonder why my bubble has all the household chores in it! And I’m doomed when the sugar cookies run out. 040
Tam @hedonic.ink · 14/02/2026This was my path too. Haven’t quite hit freeform yet, I need my “no plan” mess to have rules to anchor it. But WoDu has been my rock (settling point?) and I’m happy with it. 020
Tam @hedonic.ink · 14/02/2026Definitely a balancing act; I’ve started doing really elaborate ones with instructions to cherry pick for the purpose. But still definitely not 266 worth! 010

Tam @hedonic.ink · 14/02/2026Yeah! Plenty of ZQ projects do a bit of overlap. One year people were starting like two days before the end of the month. 100

Tam @hedonic.ink · 14/02/2026I’ve always enjoyed dialogue but since noticing I tend to focus on action I’ve begun making a conscious effort to do a lot more of it. 110
Tam @hedonic.ink · 14/02/2026I wrote the same scene to cap a plot thread twice in the same book. Both logical places for it, both equally weighty and with great banter! Still haven’t picked one. 000

Tam @hedonic.ink · 13/02/2026My goal is two rough drafts a year. Forcing it is bad and burnout is real. I did four in three or four months, and then one last year. This year, two. Maybe this year I’ll also polish one up. Maybe self-pub or query. Maybe I won’t. I’ll keep showing up for my writing anyway. 000
Tam @hedonic.ink · 13/02/2026This is not accounting for months of letting an idea bake in the back of my mind. Or the “maybe next time” files that don’t gel. Or the decade of practice in a related hobby. Can’t do that last bit for you, wouldn’t if I could (I’d want to though). But you can practice with each draft, right now. 100
Tam @hedonic.ink · 13/02/2026I do no more than a week of prep, so I have what I need to minimize dead ends and false starts in the draft. Play with structures and build context. Shelving it if it’s not flowing yet is still low investment here. And regardless, I’m only committed to a month of it once I start drafting. 100
Tam @hedonic.ink · 13/02/2026I write each first draft in thirty days. Kinda (not). 30 days is misery, unsustainable, but doable. I read somewhere King said drafts should take three months. So I commit to 30, aim for 60 and am happy with 90. If you look at it that way, it’s one month’s work spread across three. Easy. #amwriting 110
