Otherwise known as $4 million in subsidies for car dependency. Free parking is a stupid concept that is unfair on the poor, locking in noisy and smoggy cities. 🚗 💨 I’d have preferred more 🌳 🌷 and footpaths for 🚶‍♀️. I take my vote seriously for local elections.
City of Perth celebrates $4million in free parking initiatives.

50 cent fares are a distraction. Some short distance fares are too expensive, but there are better ways of fixing that. The priority for cost-of-living relief is upgrading public transport services and frequency so more people have the option of not having to drive everywhere.
The Age: The $339 million public transport pitch the Greens hope will woo Prahran voters
Victorians will save up to $50 a week under a pitch by the Victorian Greens to trial 50¢ daily fares. The Victorian Greens will pitch a 50¢ flat public transport fare to locals in the inner-city seat of Prahran in a bid to fend off the Liberals.
