La répression violente du mouvement lycéen est indigne, dangereuse et doit cesser. C'est irresponsable de prendre le risque de blesser des mineurs pour lever un blocage. Les lycées bloqués ne feront jamais perdre aux jeunes autant d'heure de cours que les classes sans profs qu'ils dénoncent.

This is a shocking unilateral move on the part of university management, who decided to simply... Ignore processes of collective bargaining (and therefore workers' rights to organise collectively as a union). I haven't heard of another UK university doing this before (but maybe there have been?)

Cis people do not understand how much trans people's rights have regressed in just 5 years. 5 years ago, there were none of these restrictions. 19 states banned legal recognition 21 states have bathroom bans 8 states ban gender marker changes on DLs 25 ban gender affirming care for trans youth

We’ve been on a 10 year run of colleges shutting down their most unique and valuable departments in favor of bland templated programs that they offer vacuous, mediocre versions of to students who just assume college has always been vacuous and mediocre in this manner.

"Queer" is helpful historically, because it doesn't conjure up the specific, modern ideas that "gay" does. If you go back to the mid 1800s, our modern ideas about the separation between "gay" and "trans" identities doesn't hold up, in a lot of ways. But most importantly for this conversation...

Université : En référé-provision, une enseignante vacataire obtient la condamnation d'une université à indemniser son préjudice moral. Né du retard fautif dans le paiement d'heures de TD (assurées l'an passé). Ce retard ayant causé anxiété & difficultés dans la vie quotidienne. => bit.ly/4gxjs4Z
5. Aux termes de l'article L. 952-1du code de l'éducation : « (…) La rémunération des chargés d'enseignement et des agents temporaires vacataires est versée mensuellement. (…) ». Il suit de là qu'en ne procédant pas au paiement mensuel des sommes dues à Mme A... l'université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonnea commis une faute de nature à engager sa responsabilité. 6. En l'espèce, il est constant que cette situation a entraîné une anxiété et des difficultés dans la vie quotidienne de la requérante dont il résulte de l'instruction qu'elle devait rembourser les mensualités de son prêt étudiant à hauteur de 206,28 euros par mois. L'intéressée a ainsi subi un préjudice moral et des troubles dans ses conditions d'existence du fait des retards de paiement de ses heures d'enseignement au sein de l'université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Dans ces conditions, la créance en litige doit être regardée comme étant non sérieusement contestable à hauteur de 600 euros. 7. Il résulte de ce qui précède qu'il y a lieu de condamner l'université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne à verser à Mme A... une provision d'un montant total de 600 euros, assortie des intérêts au taux légal à compter du 23 mai 2025, date de réception de la demande indemnitaire de la requérante, et, de leur capitalisation à compter du 23 mai 2026 et à chaque échéance annuelle à compter de cette date.

s'ajoute à une inquiétude on ne peut plus compréhensible pour leur avenir dans le monde de l'enseignement supérieur et la recherche. Il nous faut changer nos pratiques, trouver des solutions, ou au minimum à essayer de mettre en place des systèmes permettant de limiter au maximum l'incertitude
