My class has a class PE slot with me on a Tuesday afternoon. End of term hitting hard today & there were audible groans from kids normally desperate to run around. So class vote was to prioritise their mental health & wellbeing. We got out our Phoenix comic how to draw sheets & had a chilled hour!

Yup! My reading addiction is now well known among parents as well as pupils and I blame books for my refusal to settle! As Elizabeth Bennet says "only the deepest love will induce me into matrimony" and I've yet to find someone who loves me like Gilbert Blythe loves Anne Shirley and vice versa.

This afternoon is cool, grey and wet in Orkney so I'm embracing cosy autumn and indulging in tea and scones. No @mrsveritea.bsky.social I'm still not giving away which side I'm on re jam and cream 😜 though actually it's bramble & apple jelly.

I think this is the closest anyone has got to summing up the various thoughts going round my head about the motion. The wording of it makes me uncomfortable and I'm vocally pro-Palestine and against the occupation and oppression of Palestinians and the Bedouin peoples by Israel.

Me this morning: it's raining and no one expects me to do anything today 🎉🙌 I got laughed at (nicely) by someone for describing myself as chronically single yesterday but I love my life and knowing I can come home to my comfy fortress of solitude to recharge my social battery.

Exactly! Chatting with a tourist who joined us in solidarity with Palestine at our vigil today. He's white South African living in Canada & was very clear that he sporting, cultural & economic sanctions on SA were key to ending apartheid & will be key to stopping Israel's genocide against Palestine.

He's professionally complicit. As PM he was in the position to change the UK position and instead continued to make choices that had a detrimental impact on Palestinians in Gaza. We continued to fly "intelligence flights", we continued an arms trade, he did not sanction Israeli goods.
