Unfortunately a misleading headline, glossing over the fact that PHEVs are petrol-dependent for distance driving, so rapid charging offers less benefit. It’s just not worthwhile to engineer a car with all the benefits of EVs + traditional convenience of petrol. Better analysis in the article itself

Being reported that Scottish Labour leader and Glasgow MSP, Anas Sarwar, will be taking up a junior minister role at Westminster, via a peerage. If that is indeed the case, not only does it trigger a leadership election, but it also returns Monica Lennon to Holyrood as she's 4th on the Glasgow list

The weather looks nice (we’ll see if it holds), so you might want to try for an outdoor spot at Newbarns (Leith) or even Salt Horse (central) if you’re looking for a drink beforehand!

New #opendata: Output Area counts for licensed vehicles in the UK at the end of 2025, released by DfT following FOI request www.owenboswarva.com/blog/post-ve... This is the most granular dataset available to the public for mapping and analysis of where vehicles are registered #FOI #transportdata
The vehicle counts are broken down by body type, keepership, and licence status.
The data is compatible with DfT's published table df_VEH0125, which is at LSOA level.
However, this OA dataset is not an official statistical output.
Following from an ICO decision in 2022, there is no suppression of small numbers in the dataset.
The data is in the following format:

The assumption that pedestrians don’t “do their part” (when being aware of vehicles is the difference between life and death) is mind-boggling. Pedestrians can’t afford to be careless and therefore seldom are, but EVEN SO a hypothetical careless pedestrian generally endangers only their own life!
