I’m not a huge #CaptainAmerica fan, but I read the first trade of the Chip Zdarsky run to get the origin story of the new Miracleman. I wasn’t expecting teenager who signs up after being at ground zero for 9/11 only to be broken by US military action in the Middle East and Latveria. It’s great

Unfortunate juxtaposition on the front of The Times today:

Photo of Richard E GRant - who blurted out I'm a traitor on The Traitors and has 'murdered' one person on that show - next to the headline 'Man accused of murdering Widdecombe faces Farage terror charge'.

I honestly couldn’t be less interested in DNX. The art probably has something to do with it but I won’t be reading this. I’m ready for a shakeup after. I’ll give Jed another chance after DNX to see a new lineup, and his Jean mini, but I am ready for this era to wrap up presumably with the issue 50s.

Oof. I have defended this run but the latest Gail Simone Uncanny X-Men trade was a slog. That Monsters/Rawhide Kid story just did not work and was too long. It made me wonder if I was done with the book but thankfully the vol. ended with a great annual that will make me buy vol 5 whenever it is out

Very impressed by the Superman Annual. Setting up a new Legion of Superheroes who don’t even know they are being hunted by someone who has captured all the other Legions we have loved who will no doubt return at some point. So it’s a new take but also tied to the past @joshuawilliamson.bsky.social

@gregrucka.com Hiya. Not asking for spoilers for the crossover, but have Kate and Poison Ivy ever met on panel? They are two major Gotham characters, both important LGBTQ+ figures in modern DC, who seem to have almost completely missed each other as far as I can recall?

Happy Pride Month!

Pride Variant Cover of Batwoman #4 by Betsy Cola. It shows Batwoman standing between two Greek-looking statues of women. One is leaning her head back on Batwoman’s right shoulder, playing a lyre. The other is leaning forward as if to kiss Batwoman.

I didn’t love the Starfleet Academy finale. I think it just didn’t feel earned somehow after a short season, to have such a techno babble universe exploding except for these pesky kids finale But I really like the show much more than I expected to. Glad there’s a 2nd season.

Okay, to clear up speculation, here’s who’s on the cover. This isn’t the entire crew of our Enterprise, but definitely key players. Clockwise from top: Chief Engineer Terimar (Romulan!) Lt. Jack Crusher Chief Medical Officer Alexander Rozhenko (1st Klingon Med Chief in Starfleet history, age 40)

Very meh episode of #StarTrekStarfleetAcademy this week. I really don’t think the Genesis character works. But I want a five season renewal for writing this superb:
