$And every woman has a story - Every. Fucking. Woman. Every woman has many stories. I've been assaulted. I've taken expensive Ubers rather than transit for my safety. I've changed my outfit before leaving the house, and I've stopped wearing certain outfits after being catcalled too much. I've been chased by an angry man. I've shared my location with multiple people and checked in when I arrived home. Just last week, I walked into a dark, empty restroom and instinctively checked the other stalls. This is just a tiny fraction of the stories from one woman - now multiply this by all the women in your life, all of the women on this planet. We need to not only teach our men to not rape and assault, but we need to teach our men to call out other men on their horrific behavior. It was those seven men, but it was also everyone in that group chat and who heard about it who did nothing.$

Peltola uses the same bigoted rhetoric as Sophie Cunningham, juxtaposing "men" with "girls" (SC fearmongers about "young girls" competing with "men"). The asymmetrical use of men/girls—rather than the symmetrical boys/girls or men/women—defines trans girls as adults (and infantilizes cis women).

This book has been my reassurance, my comfort at times. I have my moments, it isn't always easy to be transgender or diverse out in the rural areas. At times I so wish for more community, others that know how we feel, and yes, our struggles.
