In HoR QT, Liberal MP Angie Bell called for the PM and Small Bus. Min. Anne Aly to be "stoned in the square" over the Govt delaying the ATO's action re a credit card ban. "This minister and this prime minister should be absolutely shamed and stoned in the square." A vile dangerous remark. 😠 #auspol

🚨Holy crap! Ken Paxton partied on New Year’s Eve 2024 in Dubai with his girlfriend and two U.S. fugitives (Anosh Ahmed and Sameer Suhail) charged in healthcare fraud/embezzlement schemes. Ahmed, a major donor, gave about $190,000 to Paxton’s campaign — including after his indictment.

Exactly as predicted: Elder abuse. This is from Danny Trejo’s son, Gilbert Trejo. Not only did Ben Shapiro’s camp trick the elder Trejo about what the movie really was, he apparently signed a contract barring him from even putting out a statement about it.
For anyone seeing this shit with my dad...
He was booked on a film, it's not pro-ice, it's not overtly pro anything. His agent described it as "a complicated story about a complicated time, where everyone looks bad except you, the hardworking Mexican shop owner who just wants peace"
He jumped at the idea of playing a good guy.
About 2 weeks into shooting everyone, including us, found out Ben Shapiro was involved.
My 82 year old dad has never heard of Ben Shapiro, I had to explain to him who that is, and what kind of guy he is.
My dad contractually can't bad mouth him, the film, or walk away without being sued for breach of contract. He couldn't even release the statement he wanted to.
It's fucked up. He's handcuffed to this stupid project, and swaths of people have instantly turned their back on him without knowing any of the facts.
Ben Shapiro got Mexicans to abandon one of their heroes, got his own name to the top of google's searches, and made us look like angry fools lacking any nuance. He wins.

Blame gamed. My cartoon in today's @theageaustralia.bsky.social and @sydmorningherald.bsky.social
A political cartoon by Megan Herbert showing a classroom scene. In the front row is a (young) Treasurer Jim Chalmers, whose desk shows evidence of hard work - text books, calculator, workings on paper, rubber and pencil shavings. Next to him is reserve bank head Michele Bullock, who looks down at her own work (clean, neat, by the rules) admiringly. A frowning teacher has Jim's ear in one hand and an "inflation whoopsie cushion" in the other, implying he's to blame. Jim says, "I swear, Miss, it wasn't me! Ask them!" He points over his shoulder at the kids in the back - Putin, Trump, Netanyahu, and some visibly well-off students, who all appear either smug or unbothered, and aren't working on fixing the problem at all.
