Selective TRPV2 Antagonists Derived from the Natural Product Piperlongumine Inhibit Cancer Cell Migration and Metastasis
TRPV2 is the least studied member of the vanilloid TRP subfamily despite its emerging relevance in cancer metastasis, pain, and inflammation. Although several small-molecule TRPV2 modulators have been...

Crazy new pre-print from TSRI: fix whole mice, clear them transparent, click on fluorophores, & use light sheet microscopy to visualize where drugs bind throughout the body. Find ibrutinib-yne in low BTK heart & blood vessels, correlates with cardiac side effects. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Discovery of a VHL molecular glue degrader of GEMIN3 by Picowell RNA-seq
Targeted protein degradation (TPD) is an emerging therapeutic modality in which small molecules are used to recruit targets to the natural protein degradation machinery of the cell. Molecular glue deg...

On this day in 1879, Maud Menten was born in Port Lambton, Ontario. In her work as a medical researcher, she became a leading expert in histochemistry and enzyme kinetics while fighting against sexism in her field. Let's learn more about her life! 🧵1/10
A black-and-white photo shows a woman in a patterned dress with a lace collar and pearl necklace, sitting in a chair. The background features shelves with bottles and a wire basket, suggesting an early 20th-century setting, possibly a pharmacy or study.

The first bifunctional protein degrader to deliver Phase III data! It seems to work, but people were definitely expecting more:

This week we hosted the inaugural Chemistry at the @crick.ac.uk symposium. Nearly 200 attendees enjoyed great talks from a range of group leaders across chemistry, biology, and translation. Huge thanks to our sponsors Cresset, IDT, Buchi, Merck, Dotmatics, WuXi, MedChem Express, and Enamine
An auditorium full of people looking at a stage with a presenter and a slide saying "Enabling Discovery: Chemistry at the Crick" along with the event sponsors

Induced proximity pushes beyond protein degraders, as first RIPTAC moves into the clinic
Halda Therapeutics has started a clinical trial of its first-in-modality RIPTAC drug HLD-0915 in prostate cancer, to see if bifunctional drugs can provide tissue-specific activity.

Happy to share a @nature.com News and Views on the amazing discoveries by @brianliau.bsky.social & Ning Zheng labs on how a molecular glue unexpectedly mimics the effect of cancer mutations. Such cool science and with implications to drug discovery. Check it out. www.nature.com/articles/d41...

It’s been a tough few weeks. My 10yo daughter was diagnosed with a very rare, aggressive cancer called interdigitating dendritic cell sarcoma (IDCS). I’m reaching out to identify clinicians/patients who have encountered pediatric IDCS or other (non-LCH) dendritic or histiocytic sarcomas cases.
