First time I went to a nightclub in LA I dressed in my usual black jeans and black t-shirt. The bartender was so fast and polite when I flagged her down. Everyone was so friendly and kept asking me where the bathroom was. When I left a dude just gave me his car. Great city.

I quit doing any sort of comedy for money, I only write for myself now, and I don’t even share it. If anything makes money it’s because someone I wrote with submitted it. My partner, however, has to watch two daily wire movies for work this weekend. I think I did the right thing.

If a client didn’t do their homework, unless some big life event got in the way, that is on me. I either assigned the wrong thing or approached the assignment in the wrong way, using the wrong kind of motivation or applying too much or too little pressure.

I’ve been collecting myself emotionally. We have a senior cat who doesn’t act like one at all. She has metal in her leg and she still zooms around the house faster than any young cat. Here she is having her nightly crazies.

When you're chronically ill you get a lot of "I was spanked and I turned out fine!" responses from other people with illness. Like, there's a "doth protest too much" tone & desperation in the way other chronically ill people say they're doing great and don't need accomodation
