I talked this week about the mental health crisis afflicting young people, in particular the isolation and loneliness caused by the neoliberal smashing of society. Everyone needs community. Everyone needs belonging. We cannot survive without them.

This could be the greatest piece of art ever created or, conversely, a construction not even worthy of a Devonshire wine tavern called something like the Barrel and Bough. I haven't made up my mind yet. #art

Liar. Small boat crossings peaked under Johnson in 2022 reaching 46,000 in 2022. In current year they are 18,565 and falling. Also prior to Boris Johnson's Brexit there were none.
It's a disaster, and it can all be traced to
Labour ideology. Burnham has no mandate
from the people. He has no real ideas, and
no plan,

Tom Watson’s move to Palantir is the latest sign of how far the rot has spread in UK politics. Like Blair, Cameron, Clegg, Mandelson, hired to open govt networks to companies and corporate capture of the state. They sell political capital built with public money. What do we get in return?

Broken feet, ripped-out hair and now a death sentence: the fate of twin sisters jailed over Iran protests
Taraneh Rahimi was told prison guards would rape her sister, Romina, if she did not sign a confession The twins were 19 and still in high school when they were taken from their beds in the dead of night by masked men later identified as being sent by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps. After four months of desperately seeking news from hospitals and state institutions, their mother, Marzieh Nourmohammadi, finally learned their fate. Taraneh and Romina Rahimi had been seized over their decision to join millions on the streets of Iranian cities during the January protests against the regime. The twins were unrecognisable by the time of their mother’s prison visit in May. Continue reading...
