Why bother having civic elections if the UCP keeps overriding municipal decisions? That's a question from @keithgerein.bsky.social. He says UCP intervention on zoning issues add to a pattern of a govt ignoring municipal boundaries and voters for political gain. podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/a...

An expensive “hobby”… and he apparently can’t even keep track of how many horses he owns. More than 10, fewer than 30, according to his estimate. 🐎 #ABPoli #Alberta #cdnpoli
Infographic titled “Jeff Rath’s Horse-Racing ‘Hobby’” with a free Adobe Stock photograph of a horse and the caption “Free Adobe Stock image. Not a depiction of Jeff Rath.” The infographic summarizes horse-racing information reported by Global News from court proceedings. One section states that Rath said he did not know exactly how many horses he owned, eventually estimating “more than 10 and less than 30.” Another states that, according to Equibase, horses listed under Rath’s owner profile have earned nearly $500,000 in Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred races since 2021. A section titled “What he told the court” says Rath asked to release nearly $800,000 in frozen funds, saying he needed the money for legal fees and personal expenses, including costs related to his North American horse-racing “hobby.” A section titled “The judge’s decision” states that Justice Lorena Harris refused the request, finding that Rath had not provided a full accounting of his assets and financial position. A highlighted quotation from Justice Harris states: “I have no confidence that the Rath Applicants’ disclosure is complete, transparent or reliable.” The footer reads: “Source: Global News, October 8, 2026. Based on court documents and reporting by Global News. Allegations have not been proven in court.” The design uses a white background with rust-brown headings and borders, dark gray text, pale pink information panels, and a rust-brown quotation box.

I agree that we should be using as much Canadian steel as possible for nation-building projects. But when we don't make the thing, we have to buy it from somewhere else. For a guy who claims to care so much about getting energy projects built, he sure doesn't know much about them.

This isn't just grasping at straws -- it's grasping at thin air. LNG Canada uses steel modules fabricated in China because we don't make them here. The first phase was built in large part because of a duty waiver the Trudeau government granted. Would PP like to see the project not built at all?
