Stella is such a ham. Here she is hogging the footrest of the recliner as I knit. I liked the hat I came up with for a present so much that I had to knit another for myself out of a special skein of polwarth/seacell yarn in a beautiful variegated green. 🧶 #knitting #Caturday

Russian Blue cat lying stretched out on her side with belly exposed and feet curled up, underneath her is the footrest of the recliner covered in a fuzzy gray blanket. In the foreground of the photo is the folded legs of the human taking the photo, which are covered by the blanket, and a chevron rib hat in a lustrous handpainted green wool blend is on a set of marbled pink circular needles.

Also, I recommend to anyone who has a Switch or Switch Lite that’s several years old to open it up and replace the thermal paste. Preferably you should use name brand, but even those little packets of generic paste properly applied will be better than the OEM application of paste.

On a whim, I decided to plug in that Switch Lite I didn’t succeed in repairing earlier this year. After a few minutes of charging, I pressed the power button. I thought I heard a faint sound, so I held it up to my ear and heard the fan spinning very quietly. It can turn on after all!

Eye-width extreme closeup of Russian blue cat’s face, with incredibly narrow pupils to showcase the beauty of her green irises to maximum effect. I lost yarn chicken on this shawl (notice the short piece of yarn bridging the two tips…that’s all that’s left), and I’m trying to decide what my next step is. Unfortunately there isn’t enough yarn to make the wings long enough for the body wrap option. #Knitting 🧶

Long narrow triangular bias ribbed piece of knitting in semi-solid pesto green wool, folded to show that one tip is about three inches shorter than the other, and that there’s only several inches of unworked yarn connecting the two tips

Currently working on N-ogee by @norahgn.bsky.social. The yarn is Mountain Meadow Cody, which is a yarn that was made for cables and rib…the lively springiness of the yarn is magic. #Knitting 🧶

Triangular shawl in vibrant pesto green rustic wool, with triangular panel of intertwining cables in the middle, and panels of rib flanking the outer edges. The piece fills the circular knitting needles, and is the largest it can be and still lie flat on these circs. Attached yarn cake is very small, showing that the knitter needs to attach the next ball soon.

I’m making the Creatief Kerchief by @solace-in-stitches.bsky.social from this Spring’s issue of Knitty. My favorite short hook Tunisian tip is to use a foam stitch stopper at the end of the hook. Stays put better than a hair elastic, and it looks tidier. @knitty.com #TunisianCrochet 🧶

Dark purple and muted yellowish green striped Tunisian crochet piece, which is a narrow elongated wedge shape, with stitches on a red wooden crochet hook with a lime-green foam stitch stopper on the end. This piece is sitting on a black-and-white woven diamond pattern placemat.

That brief period of time during assembly when this crochet spider is an insect 🧶 (Okay, the body would have three sections instead of two, but grant me some leeway for the sake of the joke)

Green, black, and white crochet spider amigurumi in the middle of assembly, with only six legs on it, also missing fangs and eyes. Two stitch markers are seen ahead of the legs closest to the front, indicating the space where the last pair of legs will fit. The toy is sitting on top of a diamond patterned black-and-white woven placemat.

Despite mentioning my dilemma with the picasso finish seed beads, I’ve yet to share a photo of that cowl on here. I think having to supplement with a different but coordinating color in the same finish made it even better…gives more depth to the color of the beads and emphasizes the speckles.

Long tapered cowl in muted light blue wool, with speckled beads in shades of light yellow and light brown, laying on diamond patterned black-and-white placemat. Cowl has intricate, Art Nouveau style lace patterning near bottom, and top has more sparsely spaced leaves.
