Now if it were a DS9 episode, then it’d be about Quark having Worf train him to undergo the Rite of Ascension to persuade Grilka to marry him again. The B plot is Dukat prank calling Sisko.
DS9 title card with view of the station, title text reads “muS muSwI’pu’” (albeit in all-caps, which isn’t proper romanization of Klingon), which is Klingon for “haters gonna hate”.

If this title were for a TNG episode, it would be about Worf going on a spiritual retreat with the Kahless clone to learn the most sacred of Klingon drinking songs.

Stella is such a ham. Here she is hogging the footrest of the recliner as I knit. I liked the hat I came up with for a present so much that I had to knit another for myself out of a special skein of polwarth/seacell yarn in a beautiful variegated green. 🧶 #knitting #Caturday
Russian Blue cat lying stretched out on her side with belly exposed and feet curled up, underneath her is the footrest of the recliner covered in a fuzzy gray blanket. In the foreground of the photo is the folded legs of the human taking the photo, which are covered by the blanket, and a chevron rib hat in a lustrous handpainted green wool blend is on a set of marbled pink circular needles.

Get in folks, we’re posting lockscreens.
Eye-width extreme closeup of Russian blue cat’s face, with incredibly narrow pupils to showcase the beauty of her green irises to maximum effect. Backlighting is bright daylight, which makes the hairs on top of her head a radiant halo and her ears glow translucent red; time font is the funky one with multiple line strokes, and in a color that nearly matches the cat’s eyes

I lost yarn chicken on this shawl (notice the short piece of yarn bridging the two tips…that’s all that’s left), and I’m trying to decide what my next step is. Unfortunately there isn’t enough yarn to make the wings long enough for the body wrap option. #Knitting 🧶
Long narrow triangular bias ribbed piece of knitting in semi-solid pesto green wool, folded to show that one tip is about three inches shorter than the other, and that there’s only several inches of unworked yarn connecting the two tips

Currently working on N-ogee by @norahgn.bsky.social. The yarn is Mountain Meadow Cody, which is a yarn that was made for cables and rib…the lively springiness of the yarn is magic. #Knitting 🧶
Triangular shawl in vibrant pesto green rustic wool, with triangular panel of intertwining cables in the middle, and panels of rib flanking the outer edges. The piece fills the circular knitting needles, and is the largest it can be and still lie flat on these circs. Attached yarn cake is very small, showing that the knitter needs to attach the next ball soon.

Since I’ve had a few comments about my color choices for the Creatief Kerchief, let me show you the project they’re left over from. A few years ago, I remade the Awry Hat and Mitts set in a single-stranded version with three colors. /1 #Knitting #TunisianCrochet 🧶
Garter stitch knitted hat and fingerless mitts set, with short-row colorwork zig-zag stripe, in yellowish-green, dark purple, and warm gray. Diamond shaped striped Tunisian crochet scarf in foreground, on crochet hook with brightly colored foam stopper. Tunisian piece is dark purple and yellowish-green that matches the hat and mitts set.

I’m making the Creatief Kerchief by @solace-in-stitches.bsky.social from this Spring’s issue of Knitty. My favorite short hook Tunisian tip is to use a foam stitch stopper at the end of the hook. Stays put better than a hair elastic, and it looks tidier. @knitty.com #TunisianCrochet 🧶
Dark purple and muted yellowish green striped Tunisian crochet piece, which is a narrow elongated wedge shape, with stitches on a red wooden crochet hook with a lime-green foam stitch stopper on the end. This piece is sitting on a black-and-white woven diamond pattern placemat.

That brief period of time during assembly when this crochet spider is an insect 🧶 (Okay, the body would have three sections instead of two, but grant me some leeway for the sake of the joke)
Green, black, and white crochet spider amigurumi in the middle of assembly, with only six legs on it, also missing fangs and eyes. Two stitch markers are seen ahead of the legs closest to the front, indicating the space where the last pair of legs will fit. The toy is sitting on top of a diamond patterned black-and-white woven placemat.

I won yarn chicken with this purple yarn. The bind-off for these purple stitches is a color not depicted in this photo. (The framing of this photo is deliberate to avoid disqualifying spoilers, because it’s an original that’s getting submitted somewhere.)
Several wraps of purple wool singles yarn wrapped loosely around two fingers, trailing from the purple stitches on the knitting needle. A few stitches in yellow can also be seen, along with a blue triangular stitch marker, on the left needle.

Finally got around to baking the cheesecake I promised I was going to make at the beginning of the year. Filling is Junior’s recipe, crust is a crumb crust made from dried-out marranitos, and the mocha sauce is the recipe from Epicurious that uses Dutch cocoa and bittersweet chocolate.
Slice of cheesecake lying on its side on a blue plate with bottom crust towards viewer, fork is to left of the slice on plate, and the slice of cheesecake is drizzled with a dark chocolate sauce Intact New York style cheesecake on a blue dinner plate on top of granite countertop; edges of cheesecake are a bit ragged, but the top is beautifully caramelized from the bake

Despite mentioning my dilemma with the picasso finish seed beads, I’ve yet to share a photo of that cowl on here. I think having to supplement with a different but coordinating color in the same finish made it even better…gives more depth to the color of the beads and emphasizes the speckles.
Long tapered cowl in muted light blue wool, with speckled beads in shades of light yellow and light brown, laying on diamond patterned black-and-white placemat. Cowl has intricate, Art Nouveau style lace patterning near bottom, and top has more sparsely spaced leaves.

Rocky has been sitting on my lap for over an hour and a half. I might never have permission to move again. I love how smug this cat gets about sitting on me!

Finished clearing up room on my desk to be able to do repairs on my Switch Lite, but I don’t have enough time to do the actual repairs right now and it’ll have to wait until later in the day.
Clockwise from upper right: black pouch with iFixit logo, magnetic repair board with grid and erasable marker, anti-static wrist strap, large cleaning brush, baggie of tiny cleaning brushes, bag of multiple opening picks, precision anti-ESD tweezers, spudger, driver tool with interchangeable bits, iron-on patch and “Fix Your Drift” sticker, pair of Hall-effect joysticks sitting on top of their box, cooling fan in bubble wrap sitting on its box, Noctua NT-H1 thermal paste kit

Here’s that brioche cowl I knit for my little sister after seaming. I didn’t get a photo of it modeled, but I have another version of it in the non-gradient version of the same yarn (Rowan Felted Tweed). You can rotate that point any direction you want and it’ll look good. It’s also reversible. 🧶

Greetings to all of the new folks from #LSG! If you don’t remember who I am, I’m “Henry’s Human”, although Henry himself passed away over two years ago. Here he is with his favorite realistic squeaky mouse, and the handknit alpaca replica of his favorite toy.

For those of you who needed a cute kitty with knitting 🧶 photo, here’s Stella with a wild loopy headband I made out of Malabrigo Caracol, right before the graft. (It’s the Winter Fringe Headband from Lynne Barr’s The Shape of Knitting.)
Blue-gray cat curled up on recliner footrest, with gray fuzzy blanket under her; human legs in black leggings beside cat; brightly colored variegated loopy bumpy strip of knitting in thick yarn, with stitches on colorful wooden DPN on both end; knitting strip lies in front of cat and over one leg of person

First completed puzzle of 2025 (although my mother and I started assembly on NYE). It’s Bodega Cat by New York Puzzle Company. Something about true random cut pieces is so addictive to assemble…you feel compelled to keep puzzling until it’s done.
Puzzle of New Yorker magazine cover from Sept 18, 2023; bold animation-style illustration of a bodega with black cat reclined on counter, shopkeeper in yellow shirt stocking inventory on wall behind, customer’s hand with painted nails scratching scratch-off card on top of ice cream freezer in front of counter

And in more cool stuff I’m knitting 🧶 for gifts, here’s my progress on the syncopated brioche cowl I’m making for my sister. All I have left now is to undo the temporary bind-off, do an Italian bind-off on half the stitches, then graft the other half to the side of the narrow end.
Syncopated brioche knit scarf in elongated diamond shape, in gradients of greens, blues, and purple; there is a temporary bind-off in pink cotton at the top edge, and the scarf is pinned to a blocking mat

Here’s my completed stranded colorwork hat with my original Grogu motif. I also did a helmet as filler at the top. This is folded vertically to show only one panel of the hat (there’s four panels and the crown decreases so rapidly this is the only way to see it completely flat). #knitting 🧶

Here’s that motif I designed earlier this week…it’s Grogu, a.k.a. Baby Yoda. Since I’m on a deadline for this hat, I’ve used the framework of a different hat and inserted these motifs into it.

Is there anything quite like a perfectly aligned graft that will be completely undetectable on the finished knit except if someone notices a slight discrepancy in the stripe sequence? #knitting 🧶

Last, but not least, here’s the bottom of the gnomes. Perhaps I should have thrown some of the remaining yarn in the pot with the gnomes, but it’s also the very bottom of the gnome, so unless you pick one up, you’d never see it. /end

But despite the paintwork looking garish and clunky before they hit the hot bath to set them, the painted areas diffused out beautifully during the boil, and gave it a nice, blended look. (Tip: use citric acid powder instead of vinegar to set dyes.) /3

Been on here for over a week, and yet I haven’t posted any actual knitting content yet. So here’s my zombie gnomes. (Pattern is Never Not Gnoming by Imagined Landscapes, with my own unique finishing details). The knitted pieces were painted with Wilton icing gels. /1

Reposting what I said on Threads last week and pinning it, so people unfamiliar with me know where I stand. Despite using several insults from constructed languages, I think my point is still clear.

Rocky’s padded recovery collar arrived today. I think his feelings are best summed up in Tamarian: “Ralphie, his bunny suit on.” (Is there a better way to start than with a cat photo?)
