This Pacific Baza appeared totally oblivious to us as it hunted its breakfast. It's the first time I've seen one with a frog and definitely one of the highlights of today's 55 species early morning walk. #birds #wildoz #brisbane
A Pacific Baza eating a small green tree frog. It took it a while to get the frog down, but as soon as it did it was off hunting again, tracking movements with its bright yellow eyes.

Blue-faced honeyeater 🪶 in the backyard grevilia. Subtropical plants take turns blooming throughout the year. These grevilias are winter bloomers, keeping the honeyeaters fed through the cooler months. #ausbirds #wildoz

Superb Fairy-wren. #birds
Photo of a small passerine bird on a branch with green leaves. It is a male Superb Fairy-wren in eclipse (non-breeding colours) save for a few black and light blue feathers scattered around the face and crown, and a patch of black and blue on the back of its neck. It is otherwise light brown and cream with a long, dark blue tail held upright, black beak, and dark eyes. Its beak is open as it is singing.
