Found a flock of Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoos at my local wetlands. About 10 adults and a few begging juveniles were feeding at the top of a few large Cypress Trees. #wetlands #YalikutWillamNatureReserve #Yellow-tailedBlack-cockatoos #ausbirds #birds #naturephotography

Lately a flock of 14 Red-rumped Parrots have moved into the area to feed on various ground cover seeds and flowers. They can be quite confiding and calm just hopping out of the way when people walk past. #wetlands #YalikutWillamNatureReserve #RedrumpedParrot #ausbirds #birds #naturephotography

Visited the local wetlands for a quick bird survey and found a small group of juvenile King Parrots feeding in the flowering gums. Uncommon around here but a welcome colourful visitor as they migrate through. #ausbirds #KingParrots #YalikutWillamNatireReserve #wetlands #birds #naturephotography

Tawny Frogmouth at the local wetlands reserve. The juveniles are always very curious about what one is up to when walking under their daytime roost spots. #birds #ausbirds #yalikuwillamnaturereserve #wetlands #tawnyfrogmouth #natureinteraction #australia #naturephotography

Walking to the car from shooting the sandpiper and Snipe I had to give the right of way to a nice sized Tiger Snake with a belly full of frogs. I often see snakes here at the WTP in summer. Not seen one this yellow before. #tigersnake #WTP #westerntreatmentplant #ausSnakes #wetlands

Wed I spent the day out at the Western Treatment Plant (aka Pooh Farm). While photographing a Pectoral Sandpiper, a Latham's Snipe popped out of the low salt bush and fed right in front of me. After several mins, it wandered into the scrub behind and vanished. #WTP #LathamsSnipe #AusBirds #wetlands

Latest migrating visitor to the Yalukit Willam Nature Reserve: a female Flame Robin. A perching ambush hunter, she uses posts, fences and branches to spot her insect prey on the ground. #flamerobin #ausbirds #YalukitWillamreserve #wetlands #australia

An immature Black-shouldered Kite. Adults are pure white with grey upper and black shoulders. No threat to the ducks below preferring mice and insects. Ready for the evening hunt it stretched then waggled, rising on the breeze. #black-shoulderedKite #AUSbirds #YalukitWillamReserve #raptors #wetlands

One of the many Rainbow Lorikeets attacking a Flame Tree in my backyard. I had Lorikeets, Cockatoos and Corellas feeding on the flower buds, the nectar and the large seed pods of the tree doing the day with Fruit Bats/flying foxes taking the night shift.
