LucyParkerPaul🦉🇦🇺 @lucyparkerpaul.bsky.social · 01/10/2026This Pacific Baza appeared totally oblivious to us as it hunted its breakfast. It's the first time I've seen one with a frog and definitely one of the highlights of today's 55 species early morning walk. #birds #wildoz #brisbane 528852

LucyParkerPaul🦉🇦🇺 @lucyparkerpaul.bsky.social · 29/09/2026We've first found a Powl here in January but had only ever heard the female. We went back recently to check. Day 1 dusk, female calling. Day 2 scat, feather and pellets, then at dusk a low silent flight followed by a second shadow, we knew we had a pair! Today we found them. #birds #brisbane #wildoz 2282
LucyParkerPaul🦉🇦🇺 @lucyparkerpaul.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Sometimes it's difficult to tell male and female Powerful Owl's apart. We hadn't yet seen the female but something about the chunky fierceness of this POwl suggested male. Powerful by name, and nature and the only bird in Australia that can fly carrying prey heavier than itself. #birds #wildoz 0728
LucyParkerPaul🦉🇦🇺 @lucyparkerpaul.bsky.social · 22/09/2026A new Powerful Owl chick, and family! It surprises me how urban these owls can be, we first heard this one at dusk accompanied by a doof doof soundtrack. It looks younger than others we know, it's yet to grow in any of its bat-like chevrons. #birds #wildoz #brisbane 1241

LucyParkerPaul🦉🇦🇺 @lucyparkerpaul.bsky.social · 14/09/2026There has been a large discrepancy in the ages of young Powerful Owls, possibly due to the mild winter. LucyParkerPaul🦉🇦🇺 @lucyparkerpaul.bsky.social · 10/09/2026A great owling day. We checked in on 3 pairs, one pair we've not visited for a year, and saw 8 owls! LucyParkerPaul🦉🇦🇺 @lucyparkerpaul.bsky.social · 09/06/2026When we saw this Powerful Owl roosting near the hollow we assumed it was the male.
