Fwiw I don't think protests should be banned. If people are doing illegal things on them they should be arrested under existed laws. Otherwise it's important to protect free speech.

One observation on the Louvre robbery, having been there a couple of time recently. There is immense 'security theatre' for visitors waiting to get in. And what has happened affirms the general rule: the greater the 'security theatre' the weaker the actual security.

More seriously - the sheer speed with which those who decry "activist lawyers" shift towards using the courts themselves when they realise courts can be used illiberally too. Those who loudly decry courts and lawyers often only do so when they are losing the cases: it is not a principled objection.

Ultimately it matters not if your constitution is written or unwritten or codified or uncodified… …once those in power do not recognise political or legal rules higher than their own personal or partisan advantage it is constitutional ‘game over’. Constitutions need constitutionalism, most of all.

What wont be discussed is the entire system that was operating behind them making it possible for them to response — the emergency management system—including multiple EM agencies.
