The way AI images are over-detailed and crammed full of unnecessary texture has exactly the same vibe as a Landlord Special, but flipped. Emulsion is used to simulate upkeep and mask/flatten irregular surfaces. Too much detail leaves nothing to interpret and so arouses the same type of suspicion.

So yeah, people getting diagnosed as adults - they've always had ADHD. But they might had experiened something like this: a sudden transition to a way of living that requires more of them than they are used to, and drawing deep from a pool that is now draining faster than it is being filled.

budgeting, paying bills, working full time and juggling multiple hobbies were all much easier when someone else was there to share the mental load, to help me check my pockets before i left home, and encourage me to do things. The few neurotransmitters I had were no longer up to the job. 🧵

I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child, lived untreated for most of my life, and then sought a diagnosis when I was an adult because my symptoms had started impacting my life much more noticably. My psychiatrist was skeptical at first, because ADHD is not really supposed to get worse as you age. 🧵
