That is very cool, but I wouldn't discount the "Old Vine Registry" that quickly. Wineries have to pay a 1 time fee of $300 to use the "OVR" sticker How much does SA's indepedent certification cost? Do they charge per sticker? Many small scale producers don't pay for Demeter, for ex, due to cost

"Painted Moon" is one of my favorite songs OF ALL TIME; I wish I still had the 45" to play, but it's always been on heavy rotation some way or another for me This got play on the "alternative rock" station outside of Pittsburgh during my teen years, but I can't say I know many people who know them

Chilean spring is always tough on my allergies but one thing I truly enjoy is the burst of color from the dedales de oro flowers Apparently they are considered an “exotic invader species” because they aren’t originally from here and yet they bloom in massive quantities thru out our Central Valley

Yes, amazing images and it’s a miracle that no one died. That’s the sector close to our house (but separated from us by a spur of the Andes) where there was a forest fire right before the New Year. So looks like the disappearance of the vegetation proved disastrous

Then I find a photo of Derek *in the article* & it says that Garage Wines will be one of the launch partners for introducing the seal Anyway, now we are going to do the photo-shoot for the new label in our store which is very cool This is one of the labels that will include the seal going forward

Several of the wineries that we work with are already in the Old Vine Registry, so I have been following it's development But as I was reading this article about a new "Old Vine Seal" for labels I thought, "interesting, I talked to Derek from Garage Wines about something like this years ago"

Listening to Front 242's FRONT BY FRONT ('88) to refresh my memory for the upcoming @bestalbumbrackets.bsky.social Tourney & after all these years it finally dawns on me that they used part of Herbie Hancock's "Rockit" (83) & then Moby borrowed liberally from them for his song "Machete" (99)

Madrid Wine Bars: (2) Bravo This was another @dr.h.winesky.app suggestion Proprietor JP & his team were great; they even suggested I change my food order to save some money (“you’ll get more that way for the same price”) JP recommended a bottle to take to dinner with friends; everyone loved it

I mean I had to order a cheese and charcuterie board, right?

The Bravo Wine Bar had three salons / sections. I sat in the first near the entrance. You can see the layout here with the tiled floors and the black wall in the back with the menu on it

One of the perks of having a friend who makes chocolate is that you get to try out his new creations In this case a chocolate bar that is infused with Cabernet Sauvignon My buddy Mark sources his cacao beans from indigenous cooperatives in the Peruvian jungle. The wine is, of course, Chilean

Package of chocolate from Obolo, the name of my friend Mark’s factory. Here you can see the packaging: black compostable cellulose and a biodegradable white label.

It announces that the bar is 72% dark chocolate and it was made with Cabernet Sauvignon. He only made about 500 bars
