This is my sense too. I remember him using feints + speed to create space in his first "real" senior season at Dortmund, and it's something he hasn't done as much recently. But he's improved his vision and IQ tremendously!

There is so much high-level skill and IQ required at the international level, but I feel like it's a noticeably slower game from PL / CL. You need Skill, IQ, and speed to succeed in the club game today.

I think it's a tool that you need if you're frequently running point for fast breaks, which is something Gio will be doing a lot of. But my comment about his club future is less about Strausbourg specifically and more generally about how the club game has recently changed to value physicality+IQ

there were moments last night where it was clear to me that his acceleration / top-speed have been impacted by injury, but that he's developed ways to adapt to that in the international game. I think that bodes well for his NT future, but I'm skeptical about his club future
