Who in their right mind would glorify Hernán Cortés, a man who, by today's standards, would end up indicted by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity (but then again, Rubio wants to dissemble the ICC "brick by brick", so at least he's consistent)?

The mocking statue of US President Donald Trump displayed on the premises of the European Parliament is a sign of the decline of the entire EU. I do not agree with all of the American president’s policies, not by a long shot. But at a time that calls for dialogue and mutual respect, insulting our partners on official premises demonstrates a profound failure to understand the times we live in. It is sad that the leadership of the European Parliament, in its blindness, can no longer distinguish between the legitimate right to hold a different opinion and the actions of spiritually bankrupt individuals, adventurers and lunatics.

Would the leadership of the European Parliament agree to the display of mocking depictions of the French president or the German federal chancellor? Since the answer to this question is perfectly obvious, I expect the President of the European Parliament to immediately remove the offensive depiction of the American president from the premises of the European Parliament.
