Really hoping we start to see more of this kind of civil disobedience. Using the angle of those dogs also being business assets might offer a bit more punch in our modern corporatocracy

My latest digital painting of Ms. Trina
Digital painting of Trina, a brown, white, & dark grey boxer mix with a snaggletooth

The background consists of her collar’s design— hot pink paw prints on a dark grey background

ya i mean i do genuinely think that one of hegseth's goals is to drive people appalled by barbarity out of the military, because the long term plan is to make the military shoot at us, and the same guys who object to this won't do that either.

The president is actually doing the same thing in the third to last panel. COMIC ◆ www.smbc-comics.com/comic/bet-2 PATREON ◆ www.patreon.com/ZachWeinersm... STORE ◆ smbc-store.myshopify.com
Part 1/2 of a 7-panel SMBC comic update. A generic version of an American president leans grimly over his desk, stating "we have no cards left to play. It is loss or stalemate. We launch the nuclear arsenal. Now." He then talks about the effects of the fallout for 2 panels: "once our strike is inbound, our foes will return fire. Billions, unsuspecting, reduced to shadows on a concrete wall. In the years that follow, crops will wither under a bituminous sky. And those children who survive infancy will forever bear the mark of the atom in their blood and tissues."Part 2/2 of a 7-panel SMBC comic update. The president concludes "Whatever world emerges, civilization shall not." An employee standing behind him asks "mr. president, I ask you to hesitate. Just for a moment." The president grants him 5 minutes, during which the employee bets on a prediction market app on his phone that there will be thermonuclear wold war before the end of the year."

This is where things get kinda dark for me. I think you’re right in that it isn’t logical, but I believe that it is an instinctual holdover from before we were actually able to do anything to help people with these conditions. Lamentably, I think it’s a strictly emotional phenomenon

Even from a dry economic perspective, giving people access to timely assessment will save the NHS money in mental health support, and means that more of us can work. It feels ideological at this point.

Timeline cleanse with some pretty views from this morning
A pink & blue sunrise sky showing down Jackson st from next to the Art Institute of Chicago.

A CTA train is on the tracks above the road closure signs behind which the photograph was taken.

On both sides of that center view lay 2 buildings, their grey stone cast in muted orange light, and the windows reflect a set of vibrant orange clouds cast in blue sky. Picture of Grant Park in Chicago looking southward from Jackson down Michigan ave

Vibrant orange clouds sit in a sky transitioning from the blue of pre-dawn with the yellow of daylight.

BCBAs & RBTs often express frustration with their accrediting board refusing to offer any guidance on the many ethical concerns that plague the business. Or, you could mention how the system prioritizes those who need the least help, and ice out those most in need by refusing to develop resources

You might also add: BCBAs, who are not necessarily licensed educators, are choosing kids’ educational goals. I had to explain the difference between adverbs and adjectives to someone “more educated” than me & had already taught several children incorrectly.

For autism advocates, this is a very effective line of discussion for parents considering ABA and have been convinced of its benefits. You could also add that the BACB is cool with shocking autistic children with a device the UN considers torture, but having more tools in the toolbelt helps!

I’ve spent at least a full workday’s worth of time working my way up the chain through sludged support structures to someone who can actually do something about this. 2 lunchbreaks on the phone thinking I was accomplishing something. My replacement’s replacement finally came in today and…

Just a reminder that keeping disabled people poor is a form of quiet genocide. Allowing or ignoring discrimination in jobs, housing, and society so they can’t make money, be sheltered, or exist is quiet genocide. Eliminating safety nets so folks can’t stay warm, fed, & housed is a quiet genocide.
