Brian @greenleafthered.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Drove from KC to STL yesterday to take my daughter to see Babymetal and Halestorm. This was her second concert and by far the larger of the two. She had a great time. 021

Brian @greenleafthered.bsky.social · 10/09/2026I still need to work out power distribution for everything, but homelab v. 1.0 is assembled. 8 port switch up top, Raspberry Pis in the middle, and an ancient Mac Mini on the bottom. All in a 3D printed 10" rack. Now to find a better spot than in front of my keyboard and monitor keep it. 5331

Brian @greenleafthered.bsky.social · 18/08/2026I spent this past weekend rebuilding my home file server. The hardware was about 9 years old, and hard drives were starting to fail, so it was time to replace everything. This is the 4th iteration of this machine, and the only original components are the case and DVD burner. 040
Brian @greenleafthered.bsky.social · 26/07/2026After the Big Boy rolled into town on Tuesday, I went down to Union Station to get some photos, purposely arriving after the official viewing time so there wouldn't be many people around getting in my way. 192
Brian @greenleafthered.bsky.social · 25/07/2026My latest T-TRAK module is complete! It's named "Hobo's Gulch" and will be headed to the NMRA National Train Show next weekend as part of the National T-TRAK Layout. It will be part of the functional signaling on my club's leg of the layout. 030

Brian @greenleafthered.bsky.social · 24/07/2026Felt cute this evening. And I have new shoes that are far more colorful and vibrant than any I can remember ever owning. 010
Brian @greenleafthered.bsky.social · 22/07/2026Big Boy I'll have more photos, but I got in late after going to Union Station last night, so only took the time to edit 1 before I went to bed. This is the first time I didn't take off work to chase the Big Boy into and out of town. Just not feeling it this time around. 010
Brian @greenleafthered.bsky.social · 18/07/2026I've been working on scenery for my MSS-equipped T-TRAK module, so it can go to the NMRA National Train Show in a couple of weeks. The original scenery plan had no chance of coming together in time, so I pivoted to what you see here. 141
Brian @greenleafthered.bsky.social · 05/07/2026My neighborhood has been non-stop fireworks noise since shortly after lunch. Just had about a 10 second gap between booms, and I think that was the longest in several hours. Maybe they're finally winding down. Ow that it's almost midnight. 010

Brian @greenleafthered.bsky.social · 15/06/2026Earlier this year I built a pair of T-TRAK doubles, 1 equipped with Modular Signal System, as a 2 module scene. I need to scenic the signal module soon so it csn go to the NMRA National Train Show, but I won't be able to finish the planned scenery in time. What scenery should I do on this module? 230

Brian @greenleafthered.bsky.social · 06/06/2026Here's a video of the Pride Train running on some of my modules that are part of the club's show layout this weekend. The cicada sounds in the background are sound effects from a couple other T-TRAK modules of mine thst are in the layout. 0172
Brian @greenleafthered.bsky.social · 06/06/2026I still have 2 more cars to paint, and the baggage car refused to stay coupled, but I was able to run the Pride Train at the one show my club has this month. Out of all my locomotives, UP1979 seemed like the most appropriate to pull the train. 180
Brian @greenleafthered.bsky.social · 28/05/2026New locomotive day! The locomotive i pre-ordered back in February 2023 that was originally supposed to arrive in May 2024 finally arrived today. But now I have my Kodachrome Santa Fe SD45-2. 3100
Brian @greenleafthered.bsky.social · 27/05/2026BlueSky gets to see it first. Car 1 of 6 has received its paint job and is ready for Pride Month. The plan is for the Pride Train to debut at a show June 5th & 6th, so I've got to get busy painting the rest of the fleet. 040

Brian @greenleafthered.bsky.social · 11/05/2026I've got a couple of the original Raspberry Pi Zeros from way back in the day, but never could figure out what to do with them. They don't have Wi-Fi, and just 1 micro-USB port, so not very useful. I recently found an adapter that adds Ethernet and 4 USB ports, and gives it the footprint of a Pi 3B. 120
