one thing i love about peepo (and all of the ahlberg's books, really) is how the family just lives in like, a normal house. like they're poor and there's a lot of people crammed in there and their stuff is everywhere just like in a normal house where people love each other
illustration from PEEPO showing a WWII house in england in a variety of domestic scenes including a bedroom kitchen and garden. all the members of the family are engaged in domestic tasks and there's things like drying socks and puddles from laundry on the floor illustration from PEEPO showing a WWII house in england in a variety of domestic scenes including a bedroom kitchen and garden. all the members of the family are engaged in domestic tasks and there's things like drying socks and puddles from laundry on the floor illustration from PEEPO showing a WWII house in england in a variety of domestic scenes including a bedroom kitchen and garden. all the members of the family are engaged in domestic tasks and there's things like drying socks and puddles from laundry on the floor illustration from PEEPO showing a WWII house in england in a variety of domestic scenes including a bedroom kitchen and garden. all the members of the family are engaged in domestic tasks and there's things like drying socks and puddles from laundry on the floor

You don’t hear enough about how Lynch photographed MAKEUP. I’m thinking especially Mulholland Drive and Inland Empire, Blake in Lost Highway(!), an emphasis on the makeup surface, the actor underneath. Love it.
