How I Met Your Mother, at least partially because the *way* the ending went kind of highlighted problems the show had always had that I'd previously been willing to overlook.

So, weird story, it was the FBI warnings on VHS tapes. I thought it meant somebody could come arrest my parents & take them away for playing the movie on our TV. My parents had to fast forward through it for years.

I have some open ear earbuds from Earfun. Overall really love them (as someone who can't stand earbuds that go in my actual ear canal OR bone conduction headphones). However, the voice that says "connected" when you turn them on sounds like it is coming from a haunted Victorian doll. Why.

My parents and I played this together, but we would go exploring in our own too. My house had great sound isolation, you could have a party downstairs and basically ignore it upstairs. So when I tell you my mom was so excited to solve one puzzle that I could hear her yelling from my bedroom--

NASA picture of the day today is a real 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿beauty! This is a composite image of the ~5000yo Callanish Stones on the Isle of Lewis. The amazing Giuseppe Petricca has only gone and photographed the Sun at noon there, every few days, for a whole year. #Dedication 🔭🧪👌 ℹ️: science.nasa.gov/image-articl...
The imposing Callanish Stones stand talk with their shadows spanning out across the glass. It's a super clear sky, but looks cold. Above the central stone is a strange figure-of-8 shape of dots. This is the location of the Sun, at noon, on various different days across the year.

What you need to understand is nothing we built was “off the shelf.” Store-bought environmental assets for stop-motion features do not exist. We were given concept art and told “make it look like this.” Everything you see here, down to the dirt and moss, was meticulously designed and crafted.

This idea applies to other things. If you wear a big sun hat, a polo shirt, and a pair of baggy cargo shorts to the zoo, you can tell people wholly fabricated, rather incorrect information about the animals and they will believe you.

"Broken Man cafe" sign on a big plate glass window, through which one can see cafe tables and chairs and backs of people's heads. In the distance, a sign indicates that this is Pier 22 on the Halifax waterfront

Happy Little Crater on Mercury - From Goddard Space Flight Center - flic.kr/p/druNSE
It looks like even the craters on Mercury have heard of Bob Ross! The central peaks of this complex crater have formed in such a way that it resembles a smiling face. This image is oriented so north is toward the bottom.

This image was acquired as a high-resolution targeted observation. Targeted observations are images of a small area on Mercury's surface at resolutions much higher than the 200-meter/pixel morphology base map. It is not possible to cover all of Mercury's surface at this high resolution, but typically several areas of high scientific interest are imaged in this mode each week.

The MESSENGER spacecraft is the first ever to orbit the planet Mercury, and the spacecraft's seven scientific instruments and radio science investigation are unraveling the history and evolution of the Solar System's innermost planet. Visit the Why Mercury? section of this website to learn more about the key science questions that the MESSENGER mission is addressing. During the one-year primary mission, MESSENGER acquired 88,746 images and extensive other data sets. MESSENGER is now in a yearlong extended mission, during which plans call for the acquisition of more than 80,000 additional images to support MESSENGER's science goals.

A promotional graphic in bilingual English and Spanish titled "NEW Rubin Citizen Science Project on Zooniverse." The center features an astronomical image filled with stars and galaxies of varying shapes, sizes, and colors. A large teal ring labeled "RUBIN BLOBS AND BLURS," magnifies a faint, smooth galaxy. The cutest little fox kits. The little vixen was running around by herself for quite a while until her brother showed up, then they really had a ball. #mammals 🌿🦊
Two fox kits square off on the washboard sandy surface of a tundra buggy road. They are dodging and weaving. A female red fox kit chases her brother across the mossy/gravel tundra. She's about to flank him as he charges forward. A female red fox kit it hot on the heels of her brother as they bound along the moss and gravel surface of the tundra. A female red fox kit shoots out from under a green willow bush as she chases her brother across the tundra. He's still got about one fox length lead on her.
