I would still play, because I love the system, but I can't stand what Wizards / Hasbro have done with it over the past few decades, never mind their questionable business practices. But I feel the same. I play Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel and use deliberately non-meta decks with Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

In all honesty, it's probably good that I bowed out when I did, because from the bits of the plot synopsis I've glanced at on Wikipedia, it sounds like the series ditched realism entirely for a bunch of weird mumbo-jumbo by the end of its run. Which, hey, fair, but it's not what I was seeking then.

I was reading an otherwise serious and grounded comic book series that in one issue, for seemingly no reason, introduced a modern-day Otodus megalodon, and it was so jarring and silly that I stopped reading the series and never bothered to pick it up again.

"By Dawn's Early Light" is probably my favorite episode, overall. The whole package just comes together in a really satisfying way, especially with how Columbo treats the cadets and how McGoohan's character's hubris ultimately seals his fate.

It's another one of those shows where the aw-shucks milquetoast protagonist is too sweet to live and his adventuring companions are both comically venal and oblivious to how good they've got it in their insatiable greed and lust for power. They're not even interesting subjects for revenge.

I watched the 1st episode of that Magic Repo Man anime adaptation, and I have to wonder, who are the target audience for these "I'm super-OP but under-appreciated so I got kicked out of the D&D party" Naro-slop light novel series for? What sick need are they speaking to? Because I don't get it.

After seeing someone mention it here, I continued my Spooky Season `26 viewing with Saloum (2021), a supernatural thriller set in Senegal that involves mercenaries, crime, vengeance, the horrors of war, and evil spirits. Pretty much a perfect film in terms of cinematography and mood. 👻👻👻👻👻/👻👻👻👻👻

I say this as someone who abhors violence, but I do think there's a fundamental difference between the oppressed grumbling about guillotines for their oppressors, when they have no likely way to affect this harm in reality, versus the political violence of the rich and powerful, who can and do.
