The dirty secret is that rich people need to live in politically stable regimes in order to keep their wealth. They will piss and moan about taxes, but they will not flee en masse. They like paved roads and not being kidnapped too much.

And sometimes we need an orange cardamom iced matcha + a croissant by the lake to start our Friday
A croissant and an iced matcha latte sit on a brown paper bag on a white table. A green grassy lawn overlooks a lake. There is a bench and two white Adirondack chairs on the lawn. Trees in the middle distance are turning yellow and orange.

I just can't keep up with all these new politically correct terms. Guys like me are constantly getting cancelled just for using terms that used to be acceptable
Screenshot of a Donald Trump TRUTH: "The White House considers anyone that uses the term, "Artificial Intelligence," as opposed to the highly accepted new and more accurate term, "Super Intelligence," THE ENEMY! President DONALD J. TRUMP

this is so bleak, actually imagine being called a slur for a group you don't even belong to and instead of going "wow holy shit, no one should have to put up with that, we need to hold people to account," you go "no guys it's okay I hate them too!!!" and just hand the bully your lunch money

Here’s my own pic from the MIA where you can zoom to see the texture of rhe rye seeds on the wings plus the placard with the materials and artist’s description.
A piece of crop art inspired by Picasso’s Guernica made out of a variety of crops, including rye seeds, alfalfa seeds, and more. A neighbor pulled up sign, reading ice out while a loon, the Minnesota state bird, protects its residence. The peace depicts Liam Conejo in his bunny ear hat, Alex Pretti and Rene Good. The piece was displayed at the Minnesota State Fair and then at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.A placard from the Minneapolis Institute of Art reads: Jennifer B Nelson
Born 1982
Fridley, Minnesota
Twin Cities 2026 (Guernica 1937), 2026
Alfalfa, amaranth, arugula, asparagus, barley, basil, black Bean, black lentils, broccoli, brown lentils, brown mustard, buckwheat, canola, celery, common vetch, coriander, crimson clover, daikon radish, fennel, flax, French lentils, golden flax, millet, onion, poppy, radish, red millet, sorghum, sunflower, sugar beet, thistle, Timothy, white millet, wild rice, winter camelina, yellow mustard on wood
This piece was inspired by Picasso's Guernica, reframing it to tell the story of the 2026 ICE occupation of the Twin Cities.
The imagery represents the destructive occupying force (bull), Minnesota's resistance (loon) neighbors showing up in vests with whistles to stand watch on the corners of immigrant business districts, protesters, and three terrible moments that became flashpoints for the nation: the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good and the taking of little Liam in his bunny hat.
Like Guernica, it shows that ordinary people pay the price when aggressive regimes try out new tactics of war. The juxtaposition of darkness and light reflects the reality of living such an experience and the inspirational resistance that arose to defend our communities and protect our neighbors in response.
