Posted on LinkedIn last night, woke up to several hundred notifications, friends requests, etc. Seems I struck a nerve in the industry by saying I wanted to create my own projects and not be at the sway of execs. I've said for a while it's going to have to be smaller studios and smaller projects.

I got myself a usb stick, from a good brand, and with a good amount of space. To be able to quickly move files between my desktop and laptop in a pinch, without the added time sink of going through cloud or source control. I barely used it, and the drive is already failing!

The dumbest part is PS1 discs lowered the price of games and the results speak for themselves: Best selling console at the time, outsold N64 almost 3:1 with four times as much N64 software, and outsold the Genesis and SNES combined in both hardware and software.

I need yall to understand the first 30min of Heavenly Sword You do a quick battle on a massive battleground (its meant to be impressive but it runs like penis) BEFORE you can access the main menu Then you do a tutorial level with some battles Then you do a turret section with Sixaxis support

That "indie" is where innovation happens generally isn't true anymore. We iterate to breakthroughs. At large, indie is more risk-averse & homogenous than it's been - publishers gatekeep, focus on graphics, and balloon budgets. Innovation comes from self-published games launching their practice game.
