The original beta Chromebook - one that came unbranded and at the time represented a possible future wherein cheap laptops were GOOD, Linux was spreading, and etc. seemed like a dream come true. I had two friends in high school who got to beta test them and was so jealous.

Dude, this is genuinely so fucking disappointing. Nearly all of the commits I’ve seen for PPSSPP involve generative AI from Claude in the past week alone, and their entire newest dev blog is almost entirely written by Claude. Almost half of the commits in the past 3 months use Claude for AI code.

Obviously the degree of victimization doesn’t begin to compare to *the actual victim of the abuser* by any stretch - but that gut feeling leads people to center themselves & their feelings in a way that causes all sorts of incongruence. That’s what therapy is for. Not social media with a hot topic

I feel like people might be quick to jump to argue against someone being a victim by nature of just being parasocial - but parasocial dynamics are inherently an imbalanced power dynamic. Plus, there wouldn’t be so much discussion of “broken trust” if people didn’t feel victimized.

I think people see *themselves* as a victim when they are in a parasocial relationship with someone who winds up being an abuser. So then “victim-centering” involves centering themselves. But that should be done in private, or in therapy, not on public access and seemingly in defense of the abuser.

This is really the core of the issue with the Geller stuff from an audience perspective, ignoring the fact that by his own admission he raped someone. Don't even dare talk about rehabilitation in terms of an audience when the only reason he had one is by his conscious effort to hide his skeletons.
