it sounds so ridiculous to say, but I really have made gaming a more enjoyable hobby again by taking the pressure off. allowing myself to have a few games on the go at once, not worrying if I take a few days or even a few weeks break between sessions. good to be reminded that it's not a race.

I have far too many thoughts on this game, but my bullet point thoughts are: - don't bother without savestates or cheats - it would be slightly better if you could walk one direction and block in another - it would be majorly better if every screen in this game wasn't a bullshit trap to make you mad

idk man Zelda II is just so stupidly hard... it's tough to even call the combat better than the first game it's much more of a combat-y game, but what made Zelda 1 combat so nice was the dichotomy of needing to maneuver precisely in what was a very limited grid-based system.
