This is how I feel about people using AI to write fanfiction. Like. If you're not doing it for the love of the game, what are you doing??? Fanfiction and other fan content is supposed to be handcrafted imo, it feels so icky to me to use AI to create it 🫩

If you're unsure if VP counts as art -- it absolutely does. It's a skill; it takes time & effort to learn those tools. It's posing, & lighting, & composition, & so much editing & tweaking & reworking, & love & care for the subject matter. Just as photography is an art, so is virtual photography.

I encountered my first gen-AI fic on AO3 recently (untagged, so I am just speculating; however, all the tells were there and the author chose to moderate comments, which is a tell in itself IMO) and went to check for their policy on Gen-AI content. This is some fuckin bullshit man 😭
