Among the many reasons why Waymo is a good thing: I can front-run a Waymo on my bicycle at 8 MPH and it doesn't care. It follows at a respectful distance without surging, swerving, sounding its horn, or getting angry.

Speaking of middle age gays, this is probably the most recent generation that a majority of us aren’t being wiped out from some virus and living healthy longer lives.

I feel more confident with a pilot that shows up in their fox persona for a 9 hour flight over a pilot who aligns with Tuberville's politics.

Bounded authority, observable decisions, revocation, rollback, containment, separation of duties, liability, human escalation, explicit handling of unknowns. Basically all the boring machinery civilization eventually invented precisely because we gave up on people reliably being aligned.

Based on a quick email search I’ve taken uber or lyft at least 105+ times this year and the number of times an audio book was playing is exactly zero. At worse case its some local news station or worse country (looking at your atlanta). The normal case is nothing at all as that is what one expects

Certain kinds of smart people tend to have a "sexy apocalypse" problem when it comes to thinking about risk. E.g. skynet turning everyone in paperclips, while bad, is also *kind of cool and fun* at the same time. Where the reality is that most actual disasters are both stupid and disappointing.

doing a proof of concept with a mocked up api with a test dummy token that I passed through the model and the model went out of its way to tell me I shouldn’t be doing that and offered me alternatives That is way more than stack overflow, AWS documentation, or peer review ever accomplished combined

The only surprise from this article is that infoblox thinks it’s an infosec company and WSJ believes them.
"A cloud region losing customer data because of an airstrike-I don't think that's ever happened before," said Doug Madory, head of internet analysis at cybersecurity firm Infoblox.

the picture of my dog the dog spa sent me suggests she is now possessed. (ears up is a good sign for her though)
This image features a medium-sized black dog with a white patch on its chest, sitting on a dark floor and looking up at the camera. The dog has large, pointed ears and is wearing a blue collar. In the background, the lower half of another, darker, curly-haired dog is also visible.
